- Cut up a watermelon.
- Watched Jack sleeping on my desk, on top of my purse.
- I guess you could say he was sacked out on my "Sak". :)
- Folded laundry.
- Did some organizing in the kitchen.
- Cleaned out my purse...the one nobody was laying on!
- Sliced up some ripe peaches.
- Watched Socks climb a tree outside the kitchen window.
- Re-potted my little jade plant.
- Found Oreo under the china cabinet.
- Made more sweet breads with zucchini. They were so good last week I had to make more! This one has a pecan/chocolate streusel topping.
- Cut corn and filled bags for the freezer.
- This bread has lemon zest and blueberries added to the zucchini.
- Had to laugh at this sight. Is it the hair and mouth that belong to the cloud eyes, I saw a few days ago? Now I just need the nose to come by! ha.
- Watched a Red Admiral butterfly in the yard.
The boys were so quiet today I had to go check on them a few
times to make sure they weren't up to something sneaky! ha.
All in all, a very nice Wednesday.
I hope you had a wonderful day, too!
♥
Look like was a nice day Betsy!
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice day...I love days spent at home puttering around the kitchen. I got a lot done, but it wasn't hurried or stressful. Nice!
DeleteYes I love these days too:)
DeleteThere were some awfully yummy things in your Wednesday!! ;) Love your Sak! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeletehaha..Jack loved the Sak, too!
DeleteGot all of that bread in the freezer...love that!
You had a busy day, but looks like it was a very nice Wednesday. Your hope for me to have a wonderful day was certainly fulfilled. Had a "Mother~Daughter" time with Julie. She lives 15 minutes away, and is a homemaker. Busy with four kids (3 teenagers) so we don't spend a lot of time. But yesterday I was just feeling lonely, and need some time with her so we had several hours of just hanging out, drinking cofee and sharing our hearts. I so fortunate to be close to my daughters. You have that just ahead of you Betsy, as I know Taylor's girl will be the daughter of your heart as my son's wife is to me.
ReplyDeleteAlso make a batch of chocolate chip cookies, and mashed up the mango for some more Mango Banana Bread.
Oh, you did have a wonderful day! How nice that Julie lives that close. I'm glad you got to have some girl time with her!
DeleteCookies and bread...yum. It must have been a baking day for a lot of us. I didn't have bananas to use up, but a little rain really made the zucchinis grow! ha.
It sounds like a nice day. That bread sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bobbi...just take your favorite zucchini bread recipe and add the extras. Yum!
DeleteWhat a wonderful day you had. I haven't made zucchini bread in a long time. It sounds so good. I should look at the progression of my day more like you do...it would be fun to step outside of myself and see a list like this...
ReplyDeleteyes, you should...and your photography is so beautiful, it would be quite a lovely daily journal!
DeleteI sure did...I watered all my house plants...polished everything that has a shiny surface...vacuumed...and then the best of all...I got to watch Vivian for a couple of hours, while my daughter ran some errands...6 days old and cuter than ever...now I am going to watch Doc Martin to complete my day!!!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your evening...that bread with the struesel looks awesome...how many cats again!!??
Cheers!
Linda :o)
aw...you had a wonderful day! Can't beat having a 6 day old baby to keep you company! ha.
DeleteNine cats. lol....yep, 9. But they aren't all inside...usually it's just Jack!
I am going to miss your creative Tuesday art. You are so talented & I always enjoy seeing what you have come up with. The bread looks yummy too! Lauren will have to get some of your recipes so she can make all the goodies for Taylor. Glad you had a good day.
ReplyDeleteNana
Hi, Nana! Oh, don't worry...I'll still be doing the weekly art...they will just be on Sundays instead of Tuesdays! :) I already have an idea for this weekend, too. :) You know what, Taylor always talks about that ham loaf you all eat in Pennsylvania. I'm sure she'll have plenty of recipes to try out on him. haha. Although, he likes to cook for her, too! They have so much to look forward to together. It's sweet to watch, isn't it? :)
DeleteLots of 'fresh' in this post. fresh fruit, fresh baked goodies, freesh laundry, fresh energy, fresh start. haha you did have a busy day!
ReplyDeleteIt was beautiful here today. I spent some time in the kitchen and in the flowerbeds and watched the kids and a nephew 'hunt' the little white moth/butterflies. :) and looked for the hornets' nest :( can't find it but I hope we do before they sting someone!
It was a fresh day! I enjoyed being busy around the house...its was relaxing, actually. :) sounds like you had a lovely day, too!
DeleteWe had a wasps nest hanging in the doorway to our side door of the house. I kept telling the mister to get rid of it..as I gave stats on it every other day...one tunnel in the nest...to 4...to 8...from one wasp to 3..to 5... I finally took care of it myself. lol. I think he was scared of it. Sigh. hahaha.
My son has never been told by a doctor that he is allergic to bees but when he gets stung he swells worse than anyone I've ever seen so I am always (paranoid?) cautious about these guys. We dusted the underground yellow jacket entrance and the bush where the hornets were on with Seven dust last night and the "bees are dizzy this mornin":) Maybe by tonight they will all be dead. We used that stuff several years ago and within 24 hours they had all died.
DeleteOh, yeah, I'd be concerned, too. funny that they are dizzy...at least they die happy. haha. We had a huge yellow jacket entrance in the root of our rose bushes several years ago. The line of bees flying to and from the spot was amazing to watch..it was like air traffic clear across the driveway! We aren't allergic, though. That's just me and mosquito bites. ha.
DeleteI read "watched socks climb up a tree" and I had to scroll up. For a split second I thought there was going to be real socks sitting on top of a tree. LOL Clearly it's been a long day for me... lol
ReplyDeletehahaha...did you think I ran out of clothesline and started using branches? lol.....
DeleteI'm not sure what I thought! lol My imagination pictured little socks hopping up a tree... It might be bed time for me. lol
Deletehopping sock. Dear Jax...you need to get to bed. Sweet dreams! lol....can't wait to hear what those dreams are like. lol...
Deletelol!! Luckily my dreams weren't haunted my hopping socks :) Guess there is still some sanity left... hahaha
DeleteYou are always so busy.;) When I am home, I sometimes do absolutely nothing, my day would state: lay on the sunbed the whole day.;) Hihi.;) Love the kitten's black patch under the chin, so cute.;)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend,
xoxo
Oh, just wait when the kids are there for nine days. You'll be busy, too! If I was alone, I'd probably lay on the sunbed all day, too! :)
Deleteoo very pretty butterfly and too cute on the kitten...on your sak...smiles...
ReplyDeletewent to the fish hatchery...fed the fish...went to the pool...went to dinner paid for by a blog friend (woot) and watched salmon fishing in yemen....nice movie
Well now, look at your face...an almost half of a slight smile on your lips. :)
Deletesounds like your vacation is going very well!
I love the close up of Jack's feet!
ReplyDeleteIsn't he sweet? awww. But if I could get him to stop putting his claws into my legs, I'd be much happier. lol.....
DeleteI love when you do this kind of post, the zucchini cake sounds wonderful, very clever additions, you always make me smile,
ReplyDeletethe zucchini bread was wonderful...I liked the lemon blueberry one the best!
DeleteWhat a great Wednesday - packed full of goodies and fun sights!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
thanks kitty...hope Charlie is doing well!
DeleteI also need to do some baking, although I'm afraid that pumpkin in my fridge is a little too old now. :( Oh well, I did get two nice batches of muffins out of it. Lemon Blueberry Bread... hmm, maybe I'll make that.
ReplyDeleteI was able to give away five little Jade plants at Bethany's yard sale on Saturday, and I still have more than enough here. They are very prolific and I can easily grow that which needs little water.
Watermelon without seeds? Horrors!
My last jade died! A fungus took it over. So sad. Hopefully this one will do well!
Deleteno seeds! no spitting! haha..
I am the naughty seed spitter.
DeleteA wonderful Wednesday...busy, as always. I like puttering around the kitchen days, too.
ReplyDeleteoh, and you especially do these days in your beautiful new kitchen! :)
Deletehaha I guess Jack just wants to make sure you only spend money when he allows it
ReplyDeleteAnd Socks seems quite entralled with the tree climbing bit by bit
Not surprised where you find then hiding too
With all the kitties at your zoo
And best way to do the corn I'd say
So much easier to eat at ones bay
Yeah that does look like it goes with the cloud eyes
Makes the face look rather wise
Socks has been seen on the roof lately, too.
DeleteI guess it's his shift for the security crew.
If I see a 'nose' cloud go by
I'll be put in a straight jacket and led away. Sigh.
lol...
haha a rubber room
DeleteCould bring from gloom
But at least you can bounce around
And make every weird sound
I always enjoy the cat antics. Blueberries and lemon zest sounds wonderful in the zucchini bread!
ReplyDeleteoh, it's so good! I had to freeze it before I ate any more! lol....
DeleteLooking at the kitties, I wonder how you can tell them all apart. So many black and white ones. I haven't seen that pretty grey tabby lately - that one was always my favourite.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is Grey. Yes, I think she is the most beautiful. Her markings are perfect and she has lovely eye-liner. ha. She only comes inside at night and with the heat, I haven't been outside with my camera. I'll see what I can do, though. She's had a growth spurt lately and is much bigger!
DeleteLove the kitties...such cute faces. Your zucchini bread looks yummy. We have had to freeze some of ours, too. So tempting to overeat : )
ReplyDelete1. That watermelon is the pinkest I've ever seen. I know it must of been delicious.
ReplyDelete2. Oh, that Jack!
11 & 13. I would be the size of a house with these in my sight!
14. Your imagination is funny.
This day is a slice of life, very nice to read, comforting. thanks
ReplyDeleteI love Jack! He looks like my husband's favorite cat, Norton, named after Ed Norton from "The Honeymooners". my then boyfriend had the cat when we first met in high school and that cat lived a fairly long time considering they moved to Jacksonville, FLA for a time and Norton fought a water moccasin and Norton won. It was over a rodent as I recall. Norton was bitten by the snake and should have died. He survived, rodent clenched firmly between his sharp little teeth. They moved back to CA not long after and he was around a good 7 or 8 years afterward. What a cat. He always looked like he had his tux on.
ReplyDeleteDo you change purses to match your outfit or mood?
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the cat in the tree through the kitchen window! Beautiful eyes. :)
Ohhh fresh corn. I'm day dreaming of how delicious it's going to be.
Oh, the new kitty is settling in so nicely. My dog, Star, loves to be right under my feet too. But since she weighs 97 pounds, that's a lot of dog to trip over. :)
