It was Alex's turn to help me do the grocery shopping this week!
He was SO happy the whole time, pushing the cart (fairly well),
humming, squeaking, and doing all of his happy sounds. He
loves to pick out the food. He was happy with a $3 bag of chips.
I can't get out of a store with Spencer without $40 of DVDs!
He got a little anxious when the checkout line was very long and
very slow cashiers, but we finally made it through without
any problems. He just closed his eyes. And I let him eat one of those
little bags of Funyons looking at him from beside the tabloids
about Tom and Katie. lol.
♥
Oh Betsy Alex look so much happy!!.) lol
ReplyDeleteLove his face, make me smile:)
He just loves the grocery. And he hangs out in the kitchen with me a lot. He loves to eat! ha.
DeleteAN never I think be the first to this hour LOL
ReplyDelete(I was finished a post too)
haha...and I was first on yours! where is everyone tonight? hahaha.
Deleteif Only me and you are working LOL
Deletehahaha...so true!
DeleteI love that picture of him grinning. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteHe was certainly in his element! :) I especially enjoy taking this guy with me.
DeleteLove these posts about the boys going out shopping with you. So glad Alex enjoyed it, and did so well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yuji! It was really enjoyable. I was just a bit worried waiting in line when he started closing his eyes. His anti-rage med had worn off for the day as it was late this evening. But he did fine and it was just fun to see and hear him being so happy. :)
DeleteI like these posts too. Betsy, you are such a good mom.
DeleteI don't like noise either- wonder if I could wear headphones like Alex to block out all the nonsense? :)
Alex and I would get along really well, I love to grocery shop. Costco, Trader Joes, Vons...I guess that's cause I love to eat too. He is so cute, that smile just gets to me. Long lines aren's fun for anyone.
ReplyDeleteYes, Chips are cheaper than DVD's. That was a plus.
I love to shop, too! I even like to put all the groceries away! haha. Unloading the bags into the house is a different story, though!
DeleteGlad you had a good shopping trip. The long lines are no fun at Walmart....why do they have so many checkout lanes if they are not going to use them?
ReplyDeleteI usually shop on a weekday morning and it's not very crowded. This was yucky...four lanes open and 21 closed. About 12 carts in each line. Sigh. But we did great...eating chips while you wait mades it so much better! hahaha.
DeleteI love his smile!
ReplyDeleteHe looks very happy helping with the shopping:) Thankfully my youngest comes with me now that it is school holiday time! I hate long queues at the checkout...drives me crazy at times! Have a lovely weekend:)

Really nice post Betsy. Lot like me, I've always loved grocery shopping, don't know why, just do, until of course the bill comes due. But I had to smile, as the long lines always raise my ire, especially when you're in a 10 items or less lane and the person in front of you has like 40 items and the cashier doesn't even blink to see the next five people behind him have 1 or 2 items each. Nice post. Glad he enjoyed the shopping trip.
ReplyDeleteI just love your shopping stories.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteAlex looks so happy shopping for groceries, and I think that is so nice in that I like to shop for groceries too. It is always nice to see what is new, then to try and figure out if I want to try it. Most of the time I decide not to.
It is lots of fun to take the grandkids shopping too, but it does cost me a lot more because they always talk me into buying them something for them, although they are worth it.
God bless.
Looks to be having quite the thrill
ReplyDeleteAs he grabs dvds and runs up your bill haha
Yeah I get annoyed with slowpoke cashiers too
I wonder if they know they are so slow and even have a clue
what a handsome boy!!Easy to please too!!
ReplyDeleteFavorite picture, hands down... the last picture of Alex in the car. All smiles!
ReplyDeletehe looks quite pleased to be the one helping you - such handsome boys you have! Hope you all have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletesmiles...glad you know his cues and stuff....and glad it went well and he had fun...and the line was no problem...
ReplyDeleteYou are just an amazing Mom, Betsy. Amazing... glad the Funyons helped with the long line... blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun mother/son outing. Love his sweet smile : )
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy, I'm sort of back in Blogsville - but not fully. Missed all my bloggy pals and popped over to say hi. Glad you had a nice day out shopping with Alex. You must indeed be a very good mum.
ReplyDeletesweet! :o)
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy hearing about your shopping trips with the boys. It is funny what will please one compared to the others.
