I'm glad Mr. and Mrs Cardinal has stuck it out...they've been here all through the winter and lost their eggs to that snack this spring. Poor things! they are a sweet couple!
It's so fun to watch the birds. Glad they discovered this feeder. PS - remember the giveaway I was doing for the restaurant? Would you believe your number was the first one pulled? Then I had to redraw so someone who could use it would win. What a bummer to have your name drawn this time!
Oh, yes that IS too bad! But I knew there wasn't one near me...I did a search to find out. They looked SO good...love me a good burger with fries! yum!
Yes...on that note...I think you should make a lot of feeders and attract all the birds in the world AWAY from me.
Did I tell you that we had two red tailed hawks nesting on the top of the building that I work for?? One employee walked into the building with sunglasses on. The hawk saw it's reflection and thought it was another hawk. IT ATTACKED!!!! The woman had her ear near ripped off and was rushed to the hospital. The birds were then sedated and moved upstate. Both SCARY and sad at the same time.
They may still mate again...they usually have a couple of sets of eggs We have a little chickadee family flitting around the yard the last few days...4 babies!!! They are so cute...flapping their small wings and clinging to anything they can reach...so cute..
Have a great day...another hot one here, and the humidity going up again for the weekend... more swimming I guess!!
You have def. filled it up! I have tried feeding birds but never seem to see the food I put down for them. I should fill it up more like you have done here!
Very nice. I've always felt the female cardinal's beauty is under-rated due to the brilliance of the male. But she has such a soft buff color - she's absolutely beautiful.
We have a bird feeder, too, complete with a screen to keep squirrels away. I really enjoy watching the birds come and go to have a bite to eat. NOTE: Predictable, lame joke to follow. We haven't had any cardinals, though. A few popes, but no cardinals.
good for you Betsy is absolutely beauty!!
