While at the grocery last week, I was in putting my groceries on the
conveyor belt and chatting with my cashier. A voice from the next lane calls out...
Cashier in the next lane: Hey! Hey, do you know who you remind me of?
Me: Glancing over at her to see who she's calling to. Our eyes meet. "Who, me?"
Cashier in the next lane: Yes, you! I think you look a lot like Sara Evans.
Me: Really? I laugh...
Cashier in the next lane: Yeah, you know...the country music singer?
Me: Yeah, I think I know who you mean. Now if I could only sing like that! I laugh again.
Cashier in the next lane: Yeah, the resemblance is uncanny, really.
My cashier: You know, you really do look very similar!
Me: Well, I only sing when I'm alone in the kitchen. And I use a wooden spoon for a mic!
My cashier: Laughing, "Honey, that is the cutest thing I've heard in a long time."
Me: Yeah, and I try to moon walk like Michael Jackson, but it's best nobody else sees that either! ha ha!
So I went home at did a Google search for Sara Evans.
Well, I guess there's a little bit of a similarity.
Not really ready to call her my doppelganger.
And I already have a twin. (right, Brian?) hahaha.
But it was fun to look her up anyway. :)
♥
Uncanny indeed! Both beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteAre the yummy pies all gone? :) I was stuck in the kitchen all day doing lots of strawberries :( I'll be glad for them later but today I was just warm! :)
Oooh...strawberries...yes, you will be glad later, but today was a scorcher! What did you do with them?
DeleteI think I brough home about 2 pieces of each. Maybe one will call my name for breakfast. haha.
DeleteThe easiest and least time consuming thing I could think of :) 7 qt. coarsely chopped berries, 2 cups sugar, 1 box dry sure jel (not cooked) stir well and let sit for 10 minutes then stir again. Freeze in serving size containers ready for lunches or snacks. I've done this with peaches (recipe on my blog) and the kids and my husband find them very refreshing. They are usually just right slushy by lunch time. The next round will have to be jam.
Deleteyum...so would it kind of be like a fruit/jello/slushy kind of thing? Sounds wonderful. I guess you could throw a cup in a smoothie, too. Great idea! The strawberries are great right now!
Deleteyes they would work in a smoothie, over ice cream, angel food cake. really yummy for lots of things! It does thicken a little as it sets if the berries are cut by hand. But I already had a cramp between my shoulders from hulling them so I just chopped them today with a chopper and they were a bit more juicy than other times but I was getting desperate to be finished. ha
Deleteoh, I get those cramps, too! I hate that! Decorating those cookies last week I had it really bad. Well, I'm sure they will still be yummy. Over angelfood cake...oh, yes,..that will be wonderful this summer and so quick and easy now that the hard part is done! You come up with the best ideas!
DeleteWell, I had to google "doppelganger". Although you did give a very good clue to its actual meaning, I'm still not sure if I could use it in a sentence. I wonder if I have a doppelganger out there somewhere?
ReplyDeletewell, 'they' say (whoever that is!) that everyone has one! :)
Deletehey...pedi party announcement coming soon! :) And I still need to email you my address for that book! It totally slipped my mind until I was listing things I was thankful for in my head and remembered! :)
It's here and waiting. :)
Deleteyou do look alike, both beautiful,
ReplyDeleteI think our noses and smiles look the same...the rest, not so much. ha.
DeleteOh wow--you do look very much alike! You are both beautiful women.
ReplyDeleteshe makes me wish my hair cut would grow a little faster. lol.
DeleteWow! In the second comparison you really do look like Sarah Evans! You're both so beautiful! =)
ReplyDeleteI tried to pick photos that really did look similar, but I think in real life we wouldn't look that much alike. I guess that cashier would disagree, though. haha.
DeleteOh betsy is funny! I think the guy wanna talked with you! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnyway both are beauty!
haha.. maybe!
DeleteSo, did you have a nice day?
Yes was nice and hard but we are OK, and the kids happy:))
Deletewell, if you can smile at the end of the day, then I guess you are ok. :)
DeleteThanks dear Im happy because the kids are happy, they are so funny, are so proud LOL
DeleteWell, I hope they do well with the braces. I'm sure it helps doing it together, you know? And pretty teeth at the end is a great incentive!
Deleteyes you have reason they always wanted:) anyway now I have to care what they eat you know:)
DeleteHey before to go iron (sigh) what was with the pies Im sure they were yummy!!
DeleteThe pies were good! They're almost all gone. :) What was with them? You mean what else did we eat? We have grilled burgers and chicken with broccoli salad and pasta salad. :)
DeleteYes wanna now what more you eat LOL I love grilled burgers!
DeleteI go to iron, night Betsy:)
ok..good night. See you tomorrow!
Deleteyes night dear:)
Deletegood night jim-bob...night maryellen...night gloria...
Delete:)
haha telling all of the wooden spoon
ReplyDeleteAs you prance around like a loon
That is too funny I say
And yeah the second ones looks similiar that you put on display
But Brian might get mad
So it's good thing it only looks the same by a tad
yes, if you can't laugh at yourself
Deletethen you might as well sit on a shelf.
the wooden spoon is funny, I will admit
but being alone, I can be silly for a bit.
Maybe we could tell Brian that in our discussion
he looks like Sarah Evans, but only by deduction!
hahaha.
LOL I'm sure your twin
DeleteMight not think that is a win
And yeah why not rock out with the spoon
As I'm a rhyming loon
So all is well
Just might want to stop if you hear the door bell..haha
hey...I made it in after Pat Hatt..
ReplyDeleteImagine that..
You do look alike...even tho,I have to confess, I do not know a lot of country singers..
But, you and her sure do look like dead ringers...
Pitiful!!! I will leave it to Pat Hatt
Enjoy your evening..
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Hey, you look at you rhyming away
Deletehave to warn you if that bug bites, the rhyming is there to stay!
You'll find yourself talking that way
to people that don't know Pat or care to anyway.
lol....
hahaha another one bites the dust
DeleteAnd is filled with the rhyming lust
Oh you and Sarah could really past for sisters. The bottom picture especially shows the likeness.
ReplyDeleteI felt a little sad when you said all but two pieces of pie were gone. I really thought they should have been matted and framed they looked so perfect for Memorial Day. But, know your Misters family must have really enjoyed them.
One time I couldn't convince a guy I wasn't his 3rd grade teacher. She must have been really old if I looked like her when she was his grammer school teacher. I guess we all do have one of those....what ever you called it!! HaHa
haha..oh that is funny. You must have looked very much like his teacher!
DeleteGood thing I took photos of the pies, huh! They were yummy and I think they appreciated that I tried to make them look festive. :) The apple pie was a little too runny but the others turned out great. Must have been extra juicy apples. ha.
You made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI love it when cashier checkers hold fun conversations, back and forth like that.
And you were front and center, right in the middle of it all.
Usually, I get... "did ya want help out, mam?".
And you do look like Sarah.
actually, I was a little mortified...and wished she wasn't talking so loudly! But at least it was pleasant conversation. lol. :)
DeleteI don't mind chatting with the cashier if she's able to scan items as she talks. hahaha. Sometimes I get one that has to stop while she talks...and it's usually when I'm in a hurry. lol. Those kind probably can't rub their head while patting their tummy...or walk and chew gum. haha.
it is rather uncanny...you should have said, you caught me boys, here let me give you an autograph...haha....
ReplyDeletehahaha...oh that would have been funny!
DeleteOh that is too funny!! You are both gorgeous and I totally see the similarities?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Moon walking in the kitchen with a wooden spoon? You're just missing one detail...What are you rocking out too? LOL
Moon River? LOL!!! haha...just kidding.
DeleteOh, anything...I like just about everything from the 60's forward. Beatles to MJ to Beyonce. But, no..don't even ask...videos will not be posted. LOL! :)
:-)
ReplyDeleteBest regards from Paris,
Pierre
thanks, pierre...
DeleteThere's more than a passing resemblance.
ReplyDeleteThe dogwood are breathtaking. Wow!
aren't they? I just wish the blooms lasted a little while longer!
DeleteSarah should be flattered, Betsy.
ReplyDeletewell that was sweet. :) thanks, martin.
DeleteHi Betsy .. the thing I hate is - that we don't have a clue who the 'celebrity' is .. and we have to look them up .. but I can quite see the likeness. Love the thought of you moon-dancing round the kitchen with a woodspoon .. Mr MJ will be joining you on his cloud ... rock on -cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteWell, I had to look her up to, since I don't listen to country music! :) And hey...you didn't go into blogger spam this time! yay!
DeleteOh my goodness!!! Which is who?!?! WOW!!! Yay! Take care
ReplyDeletex
haha. :)
DeleteYes yes, there is definitely a huge resemblance.;)) Although you are prettier.;)You should go online and scan a picture into www.myheritage.com/celebrities
ReplyDeleteto see which celebrity you resemble the most, it is a great deal of fun.;)) My celebrity is Claudia Shiffer, she comes up every time I scan a picture in, hihi.
xoxo
Oh, I will have to do that how fun! And yes, I can see why Claudia Shiffer comes up...definitely! :)
DeleteYes, I see the resemblence! You are prettier though!
ReplyDeleteI sing with a wooden spoon, too! hee!
thanks for the compliment about my girls!
Have a great week - it's in the 90s here!
haha...do you really? Well, that is too funny.
DeleteIt's fun, isn't it? :)
Betsy and Sara have never been seen together. Coincidence? I think not!
ReplyDeleteand they have never sung a duet...lol...with good reason! :)
DeleteYes, Betsy...a definite resemblance.
ReplyDeletenow if only our bank accounts resembled each other! haha.
DeleteThere is definitely a similarity there!
ReplyDeletethere is a little, isn't there? Kinda fun!
DeleteActually, I don't think there's that much of a resemblance. I think you're both very pretty on your own!
ReplyDeleteok :)
DeleteHa Betsy you know the sidebars pictures are for you LOL
ReplyDeleteI taked them when I return in the bus I look and I see the vineyard look so beautiful, this was after rain!
I put my shoppings bags in the floor and take the pictures!
yes..my wall! haha.
DeleteThanks for stopping to take those...they are beautiful!
Vineyards are beauty in this time, theses pictures is exactly where the bus let me, close my home:)
DeleteSuch a nice compliment and yes, I can see the resemblance. :)
ReplyDeletethere is a little...and I think they meant it as a compliment! :)
DeleteI think you do look like her. 8~)
ReplyDeletenow if I just had her money! lol....
DeleteYou are just as lovely as Sara, if not more so because I adore your humor. Thanks for being easy on the eyes and so wonderful to visit. hugs in the Lord - debs
ReplyDeleteaw deb..thanks. :)
DeleteThings like this happen to my sister all the time, and I'm always the one to say, yeah right. But I can see the resemblance here, but I wouldn't say twin territory, I don't know who she is, other than what you just wrote about, but she's got nothing on ya betsy:) I always wondered what people would say if this situation happened to me, probably something like fozzy bear or something like that lol
ReplyDeleteaw, thanks fred...you made my day! :) Fozzy Bear? hahaha...aw, that's just cute! I think I may start calling you that. :)
Delete
