So, yesterday I showed you this photo of Domino intently looking at something.
When I saw that he was investigating a garter snake, I had to get my camera and take some photos!
He eventually got bored and left the snake alone.
But he looks like he was still dreaming of what it might have tasted like!
This isn't the first time the cats have played with a snake!
I was wondering if this is the same snake I suspect ate the Cardinal eggs!
♥
OMG Looking ou how are these cats LOL
ReplyDeletemabe all the animals comment about our ZOO Betsy and want stopping b LOL
Deletehaha...never a dull moment, you know? :)
Deletemaybe they do! lol...
DeleteAlways I think the cats are something special!
Deletewell, they certainly are a lot of fun! I was hoping that snake wouldn't bite him!
DeleteYIKES I hate snakes. any and all of them freak me out! My mom recently found a FAT 5' black snake in her yard on the farm! She got the neighbor man to kill it. My brother (my parents live with him) knew it was around but left it go because it ate the yucky critters that live on a farm. YUCK! He was wishing they would not have killed it.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I'm not scared of snakes. I would have picked him up if I had to. Now if it was a spider, forget it. lol.
Deletebig and black? poisonous? eeew.
Not poisonous, thankfully but BIG and BLACK. He slithered up into some Highbush Cranberry bushes and draped over the limbs awaiting his death watching them. evil ha
Deleteoh, that's kinda creepy! lol...
DeleteHow funny. I love how you just watched and took pictures. (I probably would have rescued the snake instead.)
ReplyDeletehaha...well, Domino couldn't even get his jaws around the thickness of the snake, so I figured, he wasn't in too much danger. And he really didn't act like he wanted to kill and eat it...just play awhile. lol...
Deleteoh my...glad it did not bite him you know...haha looks like he had fun for a bit though....now dont give my domino any ideas though...
ReplyDeletehey, you're rhyming...kind of...haha.
DeleteGross, but cool at the same time!
ReplyDeleteexactly. lol.
DeleteThank goodness it wasn't a dangerous snake. I'm with you though...I can deal with snakes, not spiders. :)
ReplyDeletemust be their creepy legs...and too many of them! haha.
DeleteLOL he actually bit it hahahaha
ReplyDeleteOh that made for quite the hit
Orlin would prob run away
Then eventually try and play
Knew it would be fun
Looks like he really won
Who knows how long that went on
Deleteas I noticed after it was in full song.
Still fun to watch him poke and play
I guess it wasn't the snake's best day.
lol.
LOL well I bet he'll never come back
DeleteTo your shack
And tell all his snake freinds
To avoid such trends
So that will only help
So there will be no snakes around to make some yelp
haha...yes, the word should be spread
Deleteand cause some dread
that to enter the zoo
means you could be lunch, too!
well I never thought o f a snake, last night when you mentioned this I was thinking a bee or a bug not a snake, ewwww, we had a male cat with the same markings, such a beauty this kitty is,(without the snake)
ReplyDeleteFive of the nine cats are black and white...kind of amazing, huh!
DeleteOh those are amazing shots. I just love Betsy's Zoo. On my husbands laptop, and not very good at typing on it. More later.
ReplyDeleteHow's Lake Tahoe? Beautiful, I'm sure. Hope you're enjoying your vaca.
DeleteOh........nice. Hope the snake or any of its friends don't decide to visit you in the house.YIKES!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, with 8 cats guarding the house, I'm not too worried about that. I don't expect any mice ever again, either. haha.
DeleteWhat a great set of pictures, he looks so interested in the snake, what about the snake, I am sure he was not too amused by the handling.;))
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday,
xoxo
It was a great toy for a few minutes! ha. I'm glad he didn't want to bring it to me like a trophy. haha.
DeleteTry as you might, you will never get me to feel sorry for a snake.
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't try...hahaha...notice how I didn't resuce the thing.
DeleteCats like sharks like to bite things before deciding whether or not they will eat it. :P
ReplyDeletehaha..eew. At least his bite isn't as deadly. And that snake must not have tasted good since he let him go! Hope the snake doesn't want revenge, either!
DeleteYUK. That is a pretty big Garter. We have them out here...a LOT of them. The cats kill them and bring them to the porch! GROSS.
ReplyDeleteah...little trophies to make you proud! haha
Deletehey..thanks for the beautiful eggs! Can't wait to make an omlette with some this weekend!
Great pictures! Cats are so cute when they're playing with something, although I really don't like to see any creature tortured. Looks like this snake wasn't ruffed up too much. Just hope that non of your cats tries to bring a snake in the house ... but since you're not afraid of them I guess it wouldn't be a big deal ... lol!
ReplyDeleteWe usually scoop up the snake and relocate them before either party is hurt but I just watched this time. I don't think he had any intention of hurting him or he would have. I think he thought the snake was a fun toy. haha. In the house..you know, instead of screaming, I'd just grab my camera! lol. But still eeew...hope it doesn't happen...what if it slithered into hiding? ha.
DeleteThat was fun. Great collage, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was rather amusing to watch, too. The curiosity never ends with cats. haha.
DeleteWOW!! Phew that both animals are ok! LOL!! What great pics!! Yay!! take care
ReplyDeletex
yes, they are fine....it was all in fun, I think
DeleteDomino is so cute! You've taken some wonderful pictures of him.
ReplyDeletehe is the most leary of us, though. Isn't ready to be friendly with humans yet!
DeleteI always look forward to seeing your pictures! Always a new adventure! But I hope the subject of this one stays at your end of town!
ReplyDeletehaha...are you sure? Maybe Z would like a snake for a pet? hahaha
Deletewhat beautiful eyes!
ReplyDeletearen't they? That's the first thing I always notice about him!
DeleteHi Betsy .. loved the last two posts and now Domino playing - I presume garter snakes aren't poisonous .. only greedy ones. He's a handsome cat ..
ReplyDeleteOh dear - Alex obsession sounds a little bit much - but I guess it comes with the territory .. but apple pies on the floor - just enjoy the summer ...
Cheers to you all - I've no idea if cherry pits take ... Hilary
that' is my goal, Hilary...enjoy the summer. :) So far, so good...but it's only been one half of a day. lol....
DeleteThese pics are great. I'm a sucker for a good animal pic, and these are fun. My favorite ones are the big one, the watch it and the look it in the eye. Nice job capturing these on camera, I'd be all "get out of there and afraid for the cat, even if it wasn't the first time around.
ReplyDeleteI probably should have been worried about him getting bit, but I figure with eight cats running around out there, they are going to get into more mischief than I can prevent. I can't stand guard all the time. But I'm probably a little too laid back about it....as you can see, I was happy just to take photos. ha. I do shoo away the raccoons and tom cats because they actually to go on the attack and are mean.
DeleteEWWWWW...our cats brought us bits of mice, bits of birds...but NEVER snakes...
ReplyDeleteI don't think we have any snakes around here...or at the cottage...have never seen any..thank god..
That litle guy looks a lot like our Buddy visiting.... and like our late great Kramer...
Pouring rain here today.......good for the gardens...I am hibernating!!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Yeah, I'll show you tonight what Marmy brought me this morning. Eew.
DeleteIt's pouring rain here, too....grey and cozy. I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere! And yes, we really needed rain!
Betsy is raining there?I think was so hot!
ReplyDeleteNice the kids have holidays is nice to you enjoy!
Looks like the snake might come off worst in that encounter. I'm truly glad I don't have snakes sliding round my house, even harmless ones. Don't envy you that.
ReplyDeleteI predict that the snake doen't come back into your yard.
ReplyDeleteCat: 1 Snake: O
How was the first day of summer?
God sure doesn't let you miss much huh? Awesome photos!
