First there were four, then there was three, then only
two! A week ago, little Whiskers went missing! After
she didn't show up after a few days I figured someone
took her or something ate her. :( Then Marmalade went
missing! I figured the same thing happened to him and for
2 days I just had Tiger and Mustache to play with.
Then yesterday morning, I looked out the kitchen window and Marmalade comes across the neighbor's yard! I went out on the porch and called him and he came...bringing Whiskers along with him! Wow~ I never thought I'd see either of them again! They ran to the violet patch under the crab apple tree where mom and the other two were sleeping. Mom was obviously surprised to see them and they greeted each other with licks and meows. Then the two starving kittens settled down for some milk, tails up in excitement.
Happy to be back together! Don't miss Tiger...his face blends into the tree! I'm always amazed at how photogenic mom is. She actually looks so scrawny and thin. She will sit beside me but still won't let me touch her. She's content to nap while I play with the kittens, though, so I guess she trusts me that much. I wonder if Marmalade went searching for Whiskers. Marmalade, being gone only two days was very thirsty but otherwise fine. Whiskers, who was gone a full week, was very thin, starved and dehydrated. See how much smaller she is? Everyone grew the week she was gone. Even the size of her head is so much smaller than the other's! I'll see if I can fatten her up so she's the same size as her twin again! Last night it was fun watching them all play together! And this morning I found them like this, still asleep.
♥
Betsy ~ your killing me with all these adorable kittens... I just want to hold them, and bring one home. Wonder what Molly would think?
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of your fingers playing with them.
Are they not just so fun to watch? I'm enjoying the saga of the kitten as it unfolds.
They are so cute! Glad they are all back. I'm loving all these pictures.
ReplyDeleteWanda ~ Molly would probably think the same thing Nugget would if I brought them inside. ha.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I find our two cats (who were litter mates) sleeping on top of each other, and they're eight years old.
ReplyDeleteKathy ~ haha..well, my triplets still do that and they're 17! lol....
ReplyDeletesmiles. so cute...glad they are back together as well..
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend betsy
And to think you actually saw the return and reunion. What a thrill!
ReplyDeleteYou are proving that a little love and attention, you can change anything.
Nicely done Betsy.
Christine ~ I had two of the kitten purring this afternoon and wanting some scratching around their ears. Yay! I'll really feel like I've broken through when mom lets me pet her!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with mom! I love seeing the kittens and am glad they are all home safe!
ReplyDeleteThey must have had an adventure and strayed away
ReplyDeleteThen came back to play
Guess curiosity didn't kill the cat
As satisfaction brought it back to your mat
Or they used one of their nine lives
Maybe they avoided bee hives
Looks like they are quite content at your place
And great how you can actually rub their face
Glad the family's back together again.
ReplyDeleteAwww what a sweet story. I'm a sucker for kittens - just ask my hubby :0
ReplyDeleteBetsy said,"I wonder if Marmalade went searching for Whiskers. Marmalade, being gone only two days was very thirsty but otherwise fine...
ReplyDeleteOh! yes, sometimes animals are like people protecting each other...like (sibling protecting each other and Of course, the female her litter,etc,etc,etc...
Whiskers, who was gone a full week, was very thin, starved and dehydrated. See how much smaller she is? Everyone grew the week she was gone. Even the size of her head is so much smaller than the other's!
By the way, I'm quite sure that you will rectify Whiskers' problem too!)
Hi! Betsy...
Your photographs [and captions] are all very nice and very interesting too!
Thanks, for sharing!
deedee ;-D
Betst they're absolutely adorable & I am pleased that they are reunited. I could watch kittens play for ages, it's so funny watching the highjinks they get up to.
ReplyDeleteThe momma cats that I've had always get quite skinny while they are "feeding" a family. :) So glad your babies came home. Cats can be quite the little roamers.
ReplyDeleteThat is a happy ending - although the story goes on. And with all the "maleness" you have going on over there it is a good thing you finally have some female energy.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad they turned up. I bet they are telling their mum quite a story of where they've been. So adorable!
ReplyDeleteyay, they are reunited...could they be any cuter? glad you finally got your girl! hee! have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteSo happy they are back! This reminds me of a story that I used to read my granddaughters. A kitten wanders off and has all kinds of adventures. She comes home exhausted and happy to be back. The kitten in the story was named 'Whiskers' : )
ReplyDeleteCat ~ no way..Whiskers? What a coincidence! :)
ReplyDeleteAww... they are so cute. I can't believe the 2 little ones came back. You are a good kitty mommie!
ReplyDeleteGlad they are all back safely...I'd miss those white paws!

Blogger is being picky today on who they let comment here...I've tried twice...so I'll keep it short. These photos of the kittens are just so cute. Glad the little one made it back okay.
ReplyDeleteLOL So cute...I love them all! How fun to have them to love. :D
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute and you can't help but worry about them and Mom looks beautiful as well.
ReplyDeleteOh, how this made me smile. So happy that you have them & love them. YOU are an angel :)
ReplyDeleteBette ~ they have been SO much fun! :)
ReplyDeletei wouldn't be so sure about the shoes. Igraine, and then Carrie both had/have a fetish for my shoes... or is it my smell? Ophelia has a fetish on me, totally imprinted on me!!
ReplyDelete:D~
just glad your kittens are all together again now.
:)~

Ticklebear ~ well, you have a point! I left a pair of flip flops outside and they had the best time with them! ha.
ReplyDeleteI've been concerned about them and am so glad you have posted this update...they are really adorable...wonder why they wandered off and where did they go? ohhhh.
ReplyDeleteLovely cats !
ReplyDeleteRegards...

I notice that TICKLEBEAR referred to them as "your kittens"!
ReplyDeleteLet's face it. You're lumbered now. As I said before, your family has just increased whether you like it or not!
My cat (he was a stray, until he found a sucker to take him in; ME!) has brought one of his friends home, and it looks like being a permanent arrangement
Keith ~ well you have a point there. And I'm quite attached. :)
ReplyDeleteSo, sounds like you'll be having twice as much fun yourself! ha ha.
Thank you so much for keeping tons of kittens on the internet. I don't think there can be too many kittens pics out there. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad that the wanderer is home safe and sound. How sweet of Marmalade to save his little sister.
ReplyDeletei don't know regarding the shoes, my gwen (cat) loves, loves, loves sleeping on or in my shoes!!!!
ReplyDeleteone girl--soak it up. Too funny. Love the name, Marmalade btw. How apropos.
