Harry Stayed Home

Harry was sick and stayed home from school today. Not really sick,
but he had a cold sore on his bottom lip. He usually obsesses with
the itching and pain until he makes them swell and
bleed. So I kept him home to keep an eye on him
and keep it medicated. He generally feels lousy when he has
these...although it's been a good year since he had a break
out...and he took a couple of naps and laid low for most of
the day. One thing he did was to raise the blind in the
front room and watch....for his brothers to get off the bus.
Awww...isn't that just the sweetest thing!?

  3. Well, you're welcome, Silver. But I am the mom..and didn't really have a choice. Oh...wait...haha..you meant thanks for sharing it with you? lol. (ducks)

  4. Uhhh... yeah. That's what I meant. Sometimes the omission of only one or two words (if the writer takes their inclusion for granted in the reader's mind) can lead to such confusion, huh?

  7. That is absolutely "sweetness". At first before I read on, I thought maybe he was watch all your birds.

    Watching for brothers is sweeter.

  8. I had been trooubled with those since I was a child but found that taking L-Lysine 500 mg three times daily would clear them up faster.

To prevent them avoid the amino acid Arginine in the foods he eats. One big one to avoid is peanut butter and another is chocolate. Also take a preventive dose of two L-Lysine caps twice daily.

These are amino acids and there is no need to worry about taking them with meds.

  9. I get the L-Lysine at Swansonsvitamins.com. The are
    a gelatin capsule with powder.

The older I get the more bothered I am with the little aches and pains and break outs...wonder what that means?
I think that when you have those cold sores..your whole body is out of whack...Cheer up little buddy! They do go away!

  19. Poor Harry!

Do each of the boys miss the "others" when all three aren't together?

  20. That really is a sweet picture. Hope you showed this to his brothers. Healing thoughts on the way to him for the sore mouth...

  21. Kathy G ~ They are so seldom apart that when one is gone they do take notice. The other two didn't want to go to school without Harry this morning. And they won't go to bed without each other. Kind of sweet, really.

It's a forlorn look (being a single brother) but also a heart warming to see Harry waiting for them.
