Valentine is the theme for Creative Tuesday this time!
In keeping with my bird drawings, I decided Mr. Barn Swallow
would be a cute postman delivering loving sentiments to
all of the mailboxes! Valentine's Day is a great time to
remember all the people you care for. It isn't only
for romance, is it? No, I want to say "I love you" to
all of my sweet friends who visit here!

Such a sweet drawing, Betsy! The snow on the mailbox suits this winter's weather well.

ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Brian! I've really been trying to work on the depth and shadowing...trying to make it more 3D and not so childish. ha.

ReplyDeleteVERY cute Betsy.
ReplyDeleteI agree it is not just a LOVER holiday but a great time to let those you love KNOW IT!
That's such a lovely sketch - would make a great card. It has a beguiling old-fashioned feel about it.
ReplyDeletejennyfreckles ~ thanks, dear. :) I started off with just the bird and thought I'd try to add more to it...something that would give it a little more interest. I thought it had that quaint, old look to it, too!
ReplyDeleteIts beuatiful!
ReplyDeleteBetsy this is so sweet, and in the true spirit of Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful! And I agree that Valentine's Day isn't only for romance, and in fact I feel it's more a family holiday at this point. I think it's so nice that way!

Is that snow? Oh my gosh, February and there is still snow on the ground.
This drawing should be featured on a Hallmark card. Seriously! Love it.
ReplyDeleteChristine ~ well of course it's snow! haha...this IS Ohio afterall! Spring doesn't come until April!
ReplyDeleteLove the drawing Betsy and thank you for the sentiment....
ReplyDeleteBetsy you get better every day. I used birds too, but a little more simple for me. Your detail is outstanding.

ReplyDeleteSomebody's getting lots of love! Beautiful piece!
ReplyDeleteIt's so strange for me to think of Valentine's Day as being cold. It's almost 100 degrees every day where I live in Australia right now! Valentine's chocolates don't stand a chance.
ReplyDeleteLove your drawing, it's really lovely!
Holly ~ the birds here have ice on their wings! poor things!
ReplyDeleteBirdie ~ I bet they do make us Valentines! :) That will be sweet.
ReplyDeleteChristie ~ I think those bouquets were my favorite part, too! :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely, Betsy. I would love to find my mailbox looking like the one in your picture. And the barn swallow is fabulous. This really pops!
