Gawd we have doves very similar if not the same. I was looking after my sister's chickens a few weeks ago and noticed two had found their way into the pen through the cyclone wire. In an attempt to rescue one I caught it between my palms and promptly pulled out all it's tail feathers. Poor thing, recovering but flying a bit squiffy.
aww, we used to have some like that back in our college days. so love to watch them too.
