Thinking on the positives instead of the negatives of the week...here is a list of some of the little things that made me happy~
- I got a new computer mouse! Wireless. My old one was quite worn out and had taken on a mind of it's own! Now that I have a new one, I realize just how bad the old one was! ha.
- Except for a tornado warning and storm on Tuesday, we have had exceptional fall weather. And early morning drive to an auction on Wednesday with blue skies, fall colors, and sunshine streaming through low lying fog was just breathtaking! I love that combination of crisp air and warm sun! Just wonderful!
- Happy to have 265 cut out leaf cookies in the freezer for a wedding order! Whew!
- Happy to have a couple of days at home with nothing on the calendar here at the end of the week. I laugh as I know I would make such a good hermit. I'm happy to be home, puttering around in my little nest. Ahhh.
- Happy for friends..real friends! I'll take quality over quantity any day.
- Happy that Taylor is healing well after having his wisdom teeth out last week. Quite an ordeal with some complications. And would you believe a bill of over a thousand dollars? Would be happier with dental insurance, let me tell you! LOL! He gets his stitches out today.
- Happy to have successfully trimmed Nugget's nails. We had never attempted this before and they were SO long that I could tell it was becoming painful. And YOU would have felt quite happy if you could have seen the ordeal The Mister and I went through to man-handle a wiggly rabbit who did NOT want to cooperate! I'm sure if we had it recorded, we could have made it on America's Funniest Home Videos. :)
- Happy that Alex had an exceptional week at school. So exceptional that his teacher called to share the good news! He's focused, taking initiative, and doing his work correctly...even some things that he has never done before! Yes!
So, how about you? Why don't you join in over at Eye Girl's blog? Tell us some happy things about your week...it's good for you to see the glass as half full! :) Click HERE!
Congratulations on such a good week... and congratulate me for being first! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Silver...on being first! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week! I can't even remember from day to day..I would have to write everything down! But it has been a good week here too :D
ReplyDeletewow. you did have a big week...so any of those cookies to spare for hungry blog friends...smiles.
ReplyDeleteIt's all the happy little things that make life so good!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your Friday lists. Too bad you guys didn't film the nail clipping episode...you might have won enough money to pay Taylor's dentist bill.
ReplyDeleteThe things on my glass half full list this week would be a much needed hair cut, pressing forward making the baby quilt even though I have no idea what I'm doing, a correctly done crown impression(second time's the charm) and looking forward to babysitting for Elijah tonight.
Congrats on your happy week!!
ReplyDeleteMe...??...well...I am happy that I am ready for the doll show one week early. I can play around with material for my table top displays. Woot!!
Hugs
SueAnn
Stevie ~ a baby quilt with a crown impression...I can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteHoly Monkey that's a lot of cookies!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed reading your happy list, just what I needed to read! It has reminded me to finish my monthly list for the blog as well so thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteFantastic list, Betsy! #5 'Happy for friends..real friends! I'll take quality over quantity any day.' Borrowing that one for next week. :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry about Taylor having complications! :-(
Very Happy that Alex had an exceptional week too! I so know how Great it is to get a 'Good' phone call from school! :-)
Have a Wonderful weekend, Betsy!
Blessings & Hugs,
Coreen
Sounds like a wonderful week! I'd be happy to be a hermit, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your list on Friday.....
ReplyDeleteI could keep busy at home for days and days and never feel the need to leave (unless I run out of food) ha
Love your Friday list. Cutting Nuggets nails must have been a good video.
ReplyDeleteThe last one touches my heart, so glad Alex is doing to well.
I can't even imagine making that many leaf cookies.... And I thought I was the Cookie Lady ha ha.
ALL GOOD STUFF. Well, except Taylor's teeth...that is NO FUN. Glad he es almost to the END of that.
ReplyDeleteA bit nippy out today huh? But, no complaints here as the sun is s bright and CHEERFUL.
Planning on popping by to visit you tomorrow evening!
Looks like I'm not the only hermit-wanna-be. :)
ReplyDeleteJill ~ looking forward to seeing the kiddos tomorrow for trick-or-treat! :) I need to buy candy!
Betsy, these posts are a tonic for my soul. I'm rejoicing with you over your blessings.
ReplyDeleteI would make a good hermit too...
Wonderful things to be happy about!! It is so much better to see the glass as half full... I need to constantly remind myself of this! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Alex is having success. I cannot imagine making all of those cookies. Seriously....
ReplyDeleteFarmchick ~ I spread the cookie baking out over several days so it wouldn't kill me! :) Decorating them might do that though! ha.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great week!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any experience in clipping rabbits nails but my little chihuahua HATES getting his done and will fight, fight, fight. It's amazing how much strength such a little dog can have. My bigger chihuahua trims his own nails. He's always chewed on them since he was a puppy. I mentioned it to the vet who didn't seem overly concerned about it so I let him just because it makes it that much easier.
I love staying home and being a hermit too sometimes.
That's a LOT of cookies!
I had to have my wisdom teeth removed too but I don't remember what it cost or if my dental insurance covered it. I do remember having to get braces shortly after (that's why I got my wisdom teeth removed) and because I was an adult, insurance wouldn't cover a single cent of it. I fought it because the reason I was getting them is because my jaw was out of alignment and not because of any crooked teeth. Insurance co. didn't care. Braces cost me about $6000.
sprinkles ~ funny coincidence...Taylor's braces cost $6000, too! His mouth has been quite the expense in this household! ha.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you saved "best for last"! I'm happy for you.
ReplyDeleteMake sure Taylor doesn't play Rugby. Our son had an expensive mouth and now is playing Rugby! EEEKKK!
Christine ~ rugby? Oh my! Basketball is bad enough...and he refuses to wear a mouthguard. I don't know WHERE he gets his stubborness from! (wink!) ha.
ReplyDeleteChristine ~ and yes...best for last...I had this draft already written when his teacher called....just HAD to add it in! He's the most autistic and very hard to motivate so this is a really big deal!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, thanks for stopping by. Wanda is a dear for sharing her bloggers. I have a long and hard road ahead training for the triathlon, but I know I can do it. If you have time and inclination, read the bike story. If I did it then, I can do it now. I'm just eight years older. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteI was born in Akron and came to CA when I was 3 months old. In August we went to Akron and saw the house my mother grew up in and also met my godparents whom I hadn't seen since 1948. They live in Bath.
I really enjoyed your pictures. You are an inspiration to all who know you.
Barb
Well now, of course, being half empty person, I am wondering just how long would the half empty list be adn which one woudl be longer to get a REAL picture of your week in comparison! LOL. Nevertheless these are all great. Love that Alex is doing well there with focus. Love that you love to putts around in your cute lil home and you count your blessings where they are. Good for you, Betsy--always such an encouragement to us all here.
ReplyDeleteWishing you plenty of cozy ngihts, all snuggled up and warm.
I can't imagine making more than a dozen cookies--let alone in triple digits! WHOA!!!
ReplyDeleteMmm ~ cozy nights all snuggled up and warm...now that is a wonderful wish. :)
ReplyDeletelove to putts around in my home...oh yes, my fave!
Mmm ~ glass half empty list? haha...that is SO you. I do those...they're called the Good, Bad and Ugly posts. I think we're due to post one, too! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to remember the positive. It's so easy to forget that.
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you had those bad storms. We were lucky up here.
ReplyDeleteDid Taylor have dry socket, or whatever that is called? Ashley had hers out a little over a year ago and one of hers got infected and she had to go back in and have it opened up and all kinds of nasty stuff. I think that might be what someone referred to it as.
