Crabapple

Who needs curtains when you have a crabapple tree?
I couldn't resist a picture as they sparkled in the
afternoon sunlight this weekend.

  17. How well I remember the days of raking up crab apples from my parents front yard. They were pretty but they sure did make a mess.

  23. How lovely! This photo reminded me of the apple tree we had in our last place. I loved it but couldn't see it from the kitchen like you can yours. :-)

  24. What a view from your kitchen window. I think I would be standing there all day!

We have a wonderful view from the kitchen cabin window at Tahoe. Guess I will settle for that!

  25. I might not get the dishes done, for staring out of the window at that beauty. So much fruit - do you use it? I don't know if anyone makes crab apple jelly these days.

  26. jennyfreckles ~ I've only made it once and it turned out great!

  27. Martha ~ we've never had to rake them...the birds come and devour them in the winter. Most of the fruit stays on the tree instead of falling. Maybe it's the variety? I'm glad they don't fall and make a mess on the ground!

  28. I also love the idea of the hanging pitchers at the window. Might be stealing that too....

  29. But what happens when the Crabapple Gnomes learn how to use binoculars?

  32. I'm glad your crabapples don't fall off all over the ground. They must be pretty with the snow in the winter.
