They are great fun! Willow from Willow Manor
(who just happens to be my lovely big sis) is hosting
one today! To join in, all you have to do is click HERE
and leave a comment, chat with the other guests and
nibble on some scrumptious food. She's a wonderful,
glamorous hostess virtually and in real life, so go have
a wonderful time! If you really want to get into it, you
can sign up on Mr. Linky and post on your own blog
pics of your tux, gown, or date if you're bringing one
just like I've done here in this post.
I'm traveling to The Manor in style! There is
an autumn nip in the air. My cloche hat will keep
me stylish and warm on the trip!
I can sit back, enjoy the trip and get pampered along the way!
Lots of beautiful fall foliage to see!
No date for me this year! I think I'll just see who I happen
to bump into while I'm there. ;) Although Don Knotts was my
guest last year and we had a wonderful time, it was
some other guests that made the night very memorable!
So, here I am in the picture below. Like my hair up? I
actually wear it like this a lot. And the wine colored
dress is perfect for an autumn gala, don't you think?
I don't know who that bald man is in the tux, but
he was on the train, too. I think he's following me!
Maybe I'll pencil him in on my dance card! :)
styling as ever betsy...rockin the train...that is awesome...want to take another train trip...have fun at the ball...
ReplyDeleteOh Betsy! Could that balding gent be Mr. Tony Soprano himself?
ReplyDeleteOnly a woman as confident as you would consider wearing that lovely to protect her hair ... sort of like wearing rain boots.
Enjoy the gala, drink champagne, eat, dance with anyone you choose .. and sleep late tomorrow!
Ooo...you look fabulous, daaaling! Your gown is exquisite. What a wonderful way to travel to the manor. I might just hop aboard and take a wee journey myself after the ball is over!
ReplyDelete(you always did have a knack for picking up men when traveling!) :)
Well, that was lovely and very different. What a night...I Could Have Danced All Night! ;D
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy, it's been a while since we've met. I hope you had a wonderful time. I've been over to have a look. I might try and organise a date and a dress next year, then I can go too. I must practise my dance steps too...LOL
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, Willow has a sister!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet you,,,,and your gown is just spectacular!
My head is spinning with the elegance of the Manor, and the company of all the fun guests!
Yes, you do look gorgeous. I quite agree with Yoli and what a fab dress too with your hair up and all. Lovely. May I have a dance, perchance..that is once I get to the ball!
ReplyDeleteUmm, btw, perhaps you should keep far away from that bald chap, just in case. Then again, your repo girl skills can come in handy if needed.
Whoa! Go figure. I had no idea the Orient Express passed near Willow Manor. That sounds so fun! and her i am flying coach of all things. LOL.
BTW, I am leaving my party journal entries here:

ReplyDeleteHelen ~ why, yes it could be him! I'll have to ask.... :)
ReplyDeleteBabs and Yoli ~ Hi so great to meet you! Willow does put on a great party, doesn't she?
ReplyDeleteMmm~ a dance? thought you'd NEVER ask! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteSuch elegance! and the hat is divine! There really is nothing like the Orient Express for travelling in style. Ditch baldy and have a dance with me!
sounds like an elegant evening for you. love the "do".
ReplyDeletei'm wrestling that bald guy for a spot on your dance card. hmmm, i think maybe i've had too much wine
ReplyDeleteYou look very elegant! I love your cloche, fabulous color. And the Orient Express yet! You certainly know how to arrive in style.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress, Betsy...the color is beautiful on you. Can't wait to see you there!
ReplyDeleteLove that hat! Too awful to deprive a date of such beauty!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! Enjoy
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to travel to the ball. Oh you do look so very glamorous and I can see your point of not taking a date as all of the men racing to fill your dance card! I am having such fun seeing all from my spot at the top of the stairs.

ReplyDeleteDerrick ~ how can I resist a suggestion like that? thank you, I'd love to have a dance! :)
ReplyDeleteTom ~ I saved a spot on my dance card just for you! :)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun!!!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, you have STYLE! I would say that may be the REAL Daddy Warbucks! Get his card, will you!
ReplyDeleteoh how fun! I'll be there joining you all, but probably just by visiting.
ReplyDeletehow glamorous is that dining room on the train - a far cry from our current McDonalds at all the rest stops.
How fun...I need to go virtual shopping!
ReplyDeleteThere was such a crowd this year I missed seeing you. So sad...
ReplyDeleteI ended up chatting with George Sanders, Leonard Cohen, and Alan Rickman before leaving, and needless to say, I didn't dance with any of them.
Maybe if I go through with my idea of the Charles Dickens theme party next February 7th, you and I can share a dance.
wah, i was away again this year - missed all the fun! you look simply divine
ReplyDeleteand speaking of divine --you and willow are sisters!! makes total sense marvelous darling, marvelous
This was my first visit, and I can hardly catch my breath, with all the beauty, elegance and finery.
ReplyDeleteYou take the show with your lovely hat...just works perfect for your sweet face..
And that dining room on the train... Oh my....
I decided to travel around and view some of your friends, and this was so delightful.
Thanks for the invite.
Wow, I'm sorry I missed the ball! I will definitely make a plan to be there next year - wouldn't miss it for the world... And you all looked so lovely! Betsy, I LOVE the hat.
ReplyDeleteJust had to say how fabulous you look in that autumnal dress! It is perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to see you at the champagne fountain during the evening, and those of us there without formal dates certainly seemed to be laughing and smiling more than the others ;)
On a more serious note, thank you for your quotes on strength. They are pwonderful inspiration for me right now.
Cheers to your five men!
Trena
Duchess of Lanier
Oh I admire your courage going dateless to the Manor Ball Betsy! But I'm sure you won't be alone for very long, you look stunning.
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
Betsy, thank you for that delightful dance. you are such fun! And how you kept your hair up so well, I just don;t know--a few strays here and there to add to the look. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWell I AM glad we got to do more than just share ginger snaps in the kitchen like last year! LOL. Can you believe it but I never even ventured in there. ...was too busy keeping my eye on Ms. Boyle-- a few glasses of champagne and she was off to the Scottish corner to try her hand at bagpipes1 Oh dear. not QUITE as melodic as her normal songbird voice. Still, by then I am not sure how many people were listening anyway.
Silver Fox ~ some how I can't see you dancing with any of those men! LOL! And I'm sure you think that is a good thing. ha.
ReplyDeleteCharles Dickens party...I love that idea...you should do it. I'll mark my calendar!
Mmm ~ You're glad we got to do more than share ginger snaps? Shhh! Don't tell all of our secrets! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnd you can't fly home 'coach'...I've reserved a spot on the Orient Express for you. :)
So glad i mingled my way over to wear you are...you simply look fabulous, and I love that hat!
ReplyDelete:-)
That is a fun post. Daaaling? LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Abe! Thanks for stopping by! Funny how we all turn into "daaahlings" at cyber parties, isn't it? :)
ReplyDeletePS...how's the birding this fall?
Stylish and divine. Love and Light, Sender
