Theme Thursday = Wrinkle

Ingram's Milk Weed Cream, 1950's
  • Why is it that wrinkles are considered
  • Regal and distinguished when a man
  • Is aging?
  • Not so with us poor girls!
  • Krinkle in your forehead?
  • Lines around your eyes?
  • Each one
  • Says "Old"!

Although, if I must have wrinkles,

I'd much rather have laugh lines than scowl lines!

And before anyone says anything.....

Yes, I spelled crinkle with a 'K'.

I was eating a Krispie Kreme while typing and thought

It was completely appropriate! LOL!

if only i could keep the number of wrinkles at the level they are now, but i know each year will bring more...but they are badges to LIVING life and why worry as worry will just bring on more wrinkles any ol' way!!

  7. I always found the wrinkled, old faces of my great aunts beautiful. As I age I try to remember that... It's not working.

  11. Same with gray hair for men, you know?

Mmmm, Krispie Kreme. I haven't had those in a while. Now I'm having a craving and it's too late to go get them, although they would probably hot right now. They are too far away though for this time of night....

  14. Your verse is great but I find men tend to ignore the wrinkles and wonder why they can not fit into a size 30 anything, anymore. Big boned with wrinkles is a sight to see, I quit looking in the mirror at my dad's face a long time ago.

  15. Actually getting wrinkles is really a cool thing to get, because getting wrinkles means that you are still alive. I will take getting wrinkles any day instead of not getting them.

Wrinkles just mean that someone has lived a life and I see some actors and actresses that get face lifts who just look terrible and then you see some who do not get a face lift and they just look real and alive. Yup, getting wrinkles just means that you are still alive and full of life.

Only when women change their view of wrinkles on other women, will men change their view of wrinkles on women.

    God bless wrinkles.

  16. When I was at the gym yesteday I watched a TV morning show discussing Kylie Minogue's endorsement of Ponds Cold Cream - you probably don't have it but its been around since Eve was a girl and is cheap. Kylie claims it is due to Ponds cold cream that she has such a great complexion...which is a blatant lie as the poor woman has a face full of botox and collagen. But the silly thing is that the sales of Ponds cream has soared since her claim...how gullible are people and how concerned are they about their wrinkles...
I see wrinkles as marks of time and maturity to be worn with pride.

    Happy days

  23. That is a cute wrinkle cream jar! It would look good sitting on the vanity.
I agree, laugh lines are better than scowl lines. Some people look like they're in a permanent bad mood : )

  24. Wrinkles worn with beauty and grace beats scalped any day.

And yum...hot Krispie Kremes right off that conveyor belt!

  27. Your post was so creative. I love it. And I agree, it isn't fair. Gray haired men are called "distinguished," gray-haired women? Not so much.

  28. I Love that cute jar...Yes, definitely better to have laugh lines than frown lines:)

Hope you and your 5 men have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

  29. Even I wouldn't dare to korrect your spelling, had it been an akcident rather than an artistik affektation!

  34. Maggie ~ oh, they are starting though...right around my eyes. Hopefully because I smile a lot. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it! ha.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes, why is that anyway? At least we earn 'em! -J

    ReplyDelete
  36. You are so right about laugh lines...bring 'em on!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wrinkles say we've lived and laughed. That's a good thing.

  38. I'm currently 34. In an age where teenagers are starting to use anti-wrinkle creams, and many people are undergoing elective cosmetic surgery because of pressure from this "culture of youth", I had decided years ago that there would be no little pots of 'remedies' or unnecessary needles. I would not freak out about lines around my eyes. I will, instead, focus on more pressing matters.... like the Krispy Kremes! Long live pleasures!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. HMC ~ I totally agree! Not only could I not afford a facelift, I think they look incredibly fake. Here...have another krispy kreme! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Krinkle looks right to me
and the little jar looks fab.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hahahah, yes, completely appropriate. funny thing is I didn't get the K until you noted it here. Hee.

I've often wondered the same thing there ...along with how white hairs for men is a sign of being distinguished looking but just old for women. Really not fair, but I must say, if it has to break one was or the other, I am glad I get to grow more and more distinguished then. LOL.
