I'm thinking a day away is in order!
I'm off on a virtual trip to the grand opening of
the newest, coolest coffee shop in blogland!
Mr. Fox and Mr. Simpson are sure to be
wonderful hosts and I'm looking forward to it!
silk gown by Vera Wang would be perfect!
Navy is my best color. :)
Not taking a date to this affair, just going
let me have a dance?
Now...wonder what special kind of lattes
I'll get to sample...maybe a cappuccino, too?
Do you think Mr. Fox really looks like his avatar?
One can only hope! :)
Oh yes, that's right, we didn't meet Mr. Fox at the Xmas Tea, now did we?! Still, it will be good to catch up with Skipster and, of course, Gretchen-- her English has improved immmensely!
ReplyDeleteYes, a dance? I'd be thrilled. Thank you. I seem to recall from Willow's ball you were quite the dancer adn had a huge line of men, all waiting to take tehri turn, so if I can bunk in the queue, brill. I'm sure my "date" for the evening wouldn't mind. It is only for the day's events anyway.
Now, as for that dress. Lovely. Navy blue is actually my favourite colour too, as it is, so even better. But, you don't have to lob off your lovely head and hands for this outfit to work, do you? :)
I am keeping a travel logue for the day's events over here too, aside from my regular blog.
Oh, I love that dress.;)
ReplyDeleteI love these virtual happenings, you always make them sound so grand.;)

(Calling from SnL One on cellphone) Hello Miss Betsy! I remember you from Mister Toast's Tea Party, ja? You were very nice and very pretty. We are flying to Denver to pick my buddy Mister Toast up now. I can't wait to see to again! This is Gretchen. Over and out!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you care to join us on the flight. i can accompany you there as it were?
ReplyDeleteGretchen ~ how nice to talk to you again! Yes, we did have a nice time at Mr. Toast's Tea, didn't we? I enjoying Pleasantville very much...see you soon!
ReplyDeleteMmm ~ thanks for the offer, but I've already arrived! I'm presently on a walking tour of Pleasantville...beautiful...and so much warmer than snowy Ohio! See you soon! Sounds like Gretchen will take good care of you on that flight! ;)
ReplyDeleteBetsy, don't you remember how I looked at Willow's Manor Ball? Oh, wait, that's right. I was masked...
ReplyDeleteOh love love the gown!

ReplyDeletea beautiful looking gown betsy...have fun!
ReplyDeleteBetsy...We have arrived at the Grand Opening. Check out our very low key arrival at my place : )
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your 'virtual' trip, Betsy... Your gown is gorgeous --and I'm sure the Latte or Cappuccino will be WONDERFUL.. You might even get BOTH... Ya think???
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Lady Cat ~ ok...just checked you our! haha...you two are sooo funny! I'll see you there...we'll chat over a latte then...
ReplyDeleteThat is a very lovely gown. Did you get jewls too?
ReplyDeleteAmyLK ~ oh yes, sapphires and diamonds....earrings and a bracelet! :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love Vera Wang. Not that my bootie would fit in that but it is lovely.
ReplyDeleteyou look dazzling Betsy, well at least from here. The Foxster texted me your photo.
ReplyDeleteDid he? Now did you ask for that or did he send it voluntarily? LOL! I think Tara got him good with an elbow for noticing I didn't have a date. ha.
ReplyDeleteHey, any young lady who's on her toes would be envious of you. So glad I finally get to meet you! David's told me so... umm... Actually, he hasn't said much, except that you're really nice, and all.
ReplyDeleteTara ~ you mean he never mentioned a ca.... oh, never mind. It's very nice to meet you, too. I think Mr. Fox is quite smitten with you. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same about him. And no, he never mentioned a cake, or whatever it was you were saying. [winks] He is kinda "foxy," ya think?
ReplyDeleteOh...yes, cake,....cake...that's it. Oh, no worries. And yes, very handsome for sure!
ReplyDeleteSo glad we understand one another. You're a delight!
ReplyDeleteand you, too, Tara...Mr. Fox is one lucky man. :)
ReplyDeleteAlways has been, as far as I can see!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, as always, you look lovely. I am looking forward to chatting with you again as we did at Mr. Toast's Christmas Tea. First, I am PATIENTLY waiting to leave my room....with my new guest.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could wonder up the stairs and to my room...#005...and help?
Lizzie ~ 005? cute... I think you'll be in fine hands very soon! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHorray. So glad you're going to make it. This will definitely be The place to kick off those heels and relax.
ReplyDeleteDreamhaven ~ yes, you are absolutely right...I need another latte...care to join me?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gown, how could I resist asking you for a dance.
ReplyDeleteIf only Xena, Warrior princes will let go of my arm.
Oh come one Xena! I only want one dance with Betsy!
WEll Barry, you can have the first dance but I get one too at some point...well maybe after Sophia's sone, that is. and actually after Xena is gone as well for you. I mean she looks pretty tough there.
ReplyDeleteAwww, Barry...I thought you'd never ask! ...um....yes, just as soon as Xena says it's ok. :)
ReplyDeleteMmm ~ absolutely...and you may have a better chance....Xena's got quite a grip on Barry..and she's his ride home! ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm talking to Marceau now, in fact. She's loving the weather here. Nice and warm.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, you looked great tonight! And... umm... what kinda talk with Tara? Just curious...
ReplyDeleteMr. Fox ~ why thank you! You are looking quite handsome yourself, there, all dressed for dinner!
ReplyDeleteTara and I...well, let's just say that she let me know where I stood...which is far away. ha. I think she's a little possessive of you! And, I do kick boxing, but I'm afraid I'm no match for her...haha...although, she said it all with a compliment and a smile. :)
With "a compliment and a smile?" Yeah, knowing her, she meant both, and you deserved 'em. Subtle but important difference between being possessive and being crazy jealous...
ReplyDeleteWEll Foxster, I quite agree with you about Betsy.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Mr. Toast! That's one classy young lady, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteYoung? Oh yea...keep it coming, guys! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell, Betsy, if I may step out of character for a moment -- my "Foxster" log-in is just for today, by the way -- you are a lot younger than I. (My SnL counterpart, the Foxster, is about 20 years younger than I am!) But I'm referring more to your attitude and outlook than chronological age, anyway. So "young" isn't just flattery.
ReplyDeleteOkay, okay, enough serious crap, here. Back to fiction; it's safer.
Awww...now, I kinda like that serious, sweet side of you! ;)
ReplyDeleteCatch me on the Silver Fox blog, then. ;-) On SnL now, Skip and I try to stay in character. On my Foxyblog, I'm pretty much myself.
ReplyDeleteSure thing, Mr. Fox. :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy,
ReplyDeleteHad a great evening... you looked divine daaaling.. see you soon!
The Bach
Yes foster, she's gotta be about mid 30's I'd say, wouldn't you? Lovely, regardless.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you, dear Betsy, can;t believe we didn't get that dance after all that. I had to rush out, sorry to say. And you are so right, I'd NEVER voluntarily give away my hair. I'd rather go shoeless than do something that daft! :)
Betsy, Thank you so much for attending our first-ever blogger-event. Your presence helped make it very special!
ReplyDeleteWhat Skip said... and thanks for helping to build characterization in the various comments sections! It seems like it took the readers a bit longer to warm up to Tara (as opposed to Gretchen, who was an immediate hit), and the KBGO was used to showcase her various good points. So glad you and she got along.
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
Skip ~ it was a wonderful time and great success!
ReplyDeleteSilver Fox ~ I think Gretchen had the advantage of breaking the ice with us at Mr. Toast's Tea. Tara is quite wonderful herself...and oh so lucky!
