breakfast while we opened Christmas gifts.
It's my Braided Butter Bread recipe except I
rolled the 'ropes' in cinnamon before braiding
and omitted the egg wash before baking.
Then glazed it after it baked and cooled.
for New Year's Morning!
I bet chopped pecans would be yummy sprinkled
on the wet glaze. I'll let you know! :)
Oh let me just take it all..the bread and the plate too..
ReplyDeleteMarvelous daaaaling... Yummy!
The Bach
Haha...I think between the two of us we could polish off the whole loaf, huh? LOL! Copy the recipe for the Lady! :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look delish, Betsy. You should add pecans, all the other changes worked out great!! I love doing that!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy week! :-)

Janie
That looks wonderful, but skip the nuts!
ReplyDeleteMmmm! I can smell it now! A nice fat slice with a cup of steaming hot coffee would be a perfect breakfast.
ReplyDeleteLooks very good! DS would love that.
ReplyDeletelooks wonderful....i'll bet it didn't last long....
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, it looks wonderful. We would not have been able to take pictures, there would not have been any left.
ReplyDeleteLooks absolutely scrumptious! Gee...my recipe box is filling up fast! ;) hee
ReplyDeleteNO...MORE...DESSERTS! Aw who'm I kiddin'? I can almost taste this, Betsy. And I just know it didn't last long, heh, heh...Cheers!
ReplyDeleteSubby ~ don't say 'no more desserts' until January 1st. :)
ReplyDeleteIf Subby can't say it, I will!
ReplyDeleteBut I could be easily persuaded to wait. Boy, that looks good!!!
I could NOT resist a pastry like this! It is beautiful and scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteNo, you don't need any pecans on it. I don't think I see any nasty raisins polluting it either. ;) I want you to be my next door neighbor, and we'll have coffee and braided cinnamon bread, or something else yummy, every morning, and afternoon too for that matter. We can wear warm mittens you make, or you can teach me and I'll make them for us. We'll share antique jewelry and such and see if we really do sound alike or if it's just an illusion. Then somehow we have to figure out how you're going to exercise it all off for both of us!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, Mom got a huge platter of those mini muffins, as a food gift. I've been surrounded!
ReplyDeleteKayren ~ it's a deal...but only if you teach me how to crochet and get organized like you! hee! That sounds like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteSubby ~ I've found it best just to gobble it all up or put it in the freezer. If it sits and stares at you and calls your name all day, it's just torture! ha!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's anything better than warm bread. This looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm hungry. Beautiful, as always. And I am sure delicious, as always.
ReplyDeletei think i am with subby...this looks delicious, but i think i gained at least 5 pounds over the holiday! lol.
ReplyDeleteIt looks delicious...and I vote for pecans on top. I love the plate, too. Are those black eyed susans along the edge? It makes for a great presentation : )
ReplyDeleteYummy! Save some for me, too!
ReplyDeleteLadyCat ~ those are pansies around the plate edge. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh that looks just yummy. What a good mom you are :)
ReplyDeleteDo send some of that my way *smile*
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays! Betsy,

ReplyDeleteOK...YUMMY..YES, I'M FOLLOWING YOUR BLOG! YOU HAVE A VERY INTERESTING BLOG AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISIT AND KIND WORDS! Come say hi any time :D
ReplyDeleteJulie ~ hi and welcome! I'm glad we 'met' today! :)
ReplyDeletewell, if you can bake like that, no need to buy it at the supermarket like me! Yummy.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah P-E-C-A-N-S! Mmmmm, I'll set up the kettle with water, pull out the tea box and get my new cup out of the cabinet to sit down with you all to have a slice!
ReplyDeleteI made this for New Year's Day morning. The first loaf was gobbled up at breakfast and the second was gone later in the day when they all came in from the snow and had hot chocolate. The kids have been asking me to make it again every single day. :) Success! I made the dough New Year's Eve and kept the braided dough covered and chilled until morning. After a longer rise time they came out even better than I expected. Thanks for sharing the recipe for what will probably become a Holiday tradition.
