From the family room...
and my desk....
...and the kitchen! As I sit at my computer and watch orange
leaves float slowly to the ground, I feel the need to soak up the
beauty of autumn! Another week and I
think the colors will
be gone and the trees will be bare!
And on a completely random note, I'm so glad that
tomorrow is trick-or-treat...I can't seem to stay
out of the treat basket looking for those fun-size
candy bars! LOL!
love the first one...the blue glass by the fiery red tree...love the colors! those bit sized candy bars are addicting...they make you feel better for only taking a bite until the pile of wrappers rings your ankles...lol.
ReplyDeleteBrian ~ yep...remember my butterscotch wrappers? Same thing..but now they are Butterfingers and Three Muskateers! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, these colors are beautifuly vibrant. In TX we mostly go from green to brown. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, that is beautiful. The red bush is a fire bush, is it not?
ReplyDeleteI just posted my husband's last color Fall photo on Women of a Certain Age. He shot our birch trees. It's also colorful.
I'll miss Autumn sooooo much.
Cali Girl ~ yes, it is...we call them burning bushes. They are plentiful around here. Some people have them as hedges around their yards and they make the most beautiful living fence this time of year!
ReplyDeleteI love birch trees...I'm coming over to take a look...
Beautiful photos. Just beautiful. About the candy....
ReplyDeleteI wonder just what size - exactly - is FUN size. ;o)
AngelMay ~ well, I don't know what is fun about it. They're like appetizers and you just keep wanting more! ha!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours- you are right to enjoy it while you can- it won't last long :)
ReplyDeleteDo your big kids go?
ReplyDeleteWow. Gorgeous. Love the autumnal pics. that top one looks so professional. Her it's more like if you shot a sheet of white paper!
No, the boys don't go trick or treating any more. I think they stopped about 3 years ago. They do love to come to the door and look at the kids while we pass out the treats, though!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you are buried in snow and it's 75 degrees here this afternoon!
Me too Betsy...I've been dipping into the Reece Cups. I hope there are enough left for any trick or treaters.
ReplyDeleteLove your red bush and the cardinal.
Lovely, lovely Betsy! I don't remember ever seeing that particular window before, it's so pretty. Is the filigree a piece of ironwork that you have propped on the sill?
ReplyDeleteThe cardinals have really been enjoying the feeder outside of our living room window. We've even had a few finches. I never tire of watching them.
Christian ~ yes, I got that piece of ironwork at a garage sale years ago!
ReplyDeleteWe do not have Trick or Treaters at The Glen and I miss not having that chocolate to nick BUT I am sure that my hips do not!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are truly beautiful and it makes me sad that they do not linger a bit longer!
Betsy, this is a beautiful view you have, and it must inspire you as you blog. As for the lollies ... we don't have much trick or treating over here, although it's kicking off slowly. I still like to keep a stash of goodies. In hope, you understand, even if I have to constantly replenish it..
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful...Love the cardinal...
ReplyDeleteSo pretty....I'd just sit and look out your windows!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is so beautiful, and that red bird, wow, blends right in. Is it there all year round or does it come especially for autumn?
ReplyDeleteJasmine ~ we had a several Cardinal couples nest in our yard this year! So fun to watch the families in our bird feeder! They stay through the fall and then go south for the winter.
ReplyDeleteWhat great views! I also hate the amount of candy that I eat at this time.
ReplyDeleteI love that first photo. You should blow that up and frame it.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are beautiful. What a great shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful views! We are really missing having a nice yard. The home we moved to this past summer is in a new development and there are NO trees, let alone birds, squirrel, chipmunks, etc. Kind of sad. But on the other had there is beautiful foliage everywhere we go and we are definitely enjoying that:)
ReplyDeleteAll lovely Autumn shots; I particularly love the last one!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors and views you have, lucky gal!!!!
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful pictures - that red (maple??) is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteRed is attracted to you. -Jayne
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely, lovely! The red is out of this world.;) The first picture is so grand. You know this is my kind of post.;)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend Betsy.;)
xoxo
"burning bush" that's right!
ReplyDeleteMy husband likes your shot of it though the window. It is lovely.
Happy Halloween!
You seem to be surrounded by beauty, Betsy!
ReplyDeleteLovely, simply lovely. After the bare trees come the flocked ones and then the budding ones. Nature is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat's some beautiful reds you've got going on in your life there -the trees are gorgeous and who doesn't appreciate seeing the magnificent cardinals too! Love 'em all!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos—especially the one with the cardinal! You have a good eye.
ReplyDeleteThose blue bottles charm me every time I visit your blog!
