Train books spread out over the kitchen island.

Oh, these days of summer vacation!
Cooking alone in my spotless, uncluttered
kitchen is only a faint memory now!

Looks a smidge like a fire hazard, Spencer! That boy is definitely smitten.
ReplyDeleteKayren ~ funny you mention a fire hazard! Spencer has learned the hard way that a hot burner will scorch paper!
ReplyDeleteThat grilled sandwich is making me hungry! Your nephew, who's home this summer, has been making a lot of grilled sandwiches, too. mmm.
ReplyDeleteDo the boys have summer school?
ReplyDeleteMy daughter will be home all summer and she has not taken well to my "training" in being neat and tidy. I hope she can finally get on the clean team with the rest of the family.
I feel your pain.
Spencer would absolutely love it here, we live quite near to the railway line and see trains going past all the time! We even have a few steam trains going along the line. If he ever wants a picture or two just let me know and I'll email some to you.
ReplyDeleteCJ xx
QueenB ~ no summer school here! :( although the change of pace is good for everyone.
ReplyDeleteOkay...I look at this photo and think FIRE too!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, maybe you need a countdown to school starting on the blog!

ReplyDelete--Before I got to the "in only..." bit, I was going to say!! :) Yoou keep plugging along and pouring out your tender, strong heart to your boys.
It looks like you certainly are inundated with other's hobbies/ readings, etc.
The thought of the sandwich is making me hungry even though I just ate a few minutes ago. And yes my first thought was that this looks like a fire hazzard. But I knew that you would put safety first and so then I did not worry.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that they are all reading and learning how to cook, a most impressive skill for any man to have.
God bless.
I love the fact that Taylor has adapted to the clutter and just gets in there and makes his lunch! When my kids were home that house was always a wreck...unless Rachel cleaned up. She couldn't stand the mess and would always clean for me...gotta love that girl!
ReplyDeleteLaughing out loud! All I have to say is that I'm glad that my little guys haven't reached counter height yet or this, too, would be my life.
ReplyDeleteLOL Do you wonder what you will find when you enter a room????Never a dull moment at Betsy's!
ReplyDeleteoh friend you have to keep that humor about you .....you are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat is AWESOME that he has such a passion for trains! Love how he just pours over those books!
ReplyDeleteoh, yes, i remember the messes made during summer breaks. and, well, honestly SOME days i miss them! i enjoy seeing and reading of your summer adventures, betsy!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to this! Looks just like my husband's MANY, MANY piles ... although he would be freaking out about the fire hazard so close to the stovetop. Move it over a foot or two, though - and you've got my house.
