We're experiencing another winter storm with more snow,
sleet and icy temperatures! School has been cancelled
and it's one of those cozy snow days!
Here's my 7 favorite ways to stay warm:
****
1. A favorite pair of slippers...
2. A steaming cup of anything...coffee, tea, hot chocolate...
3. A favorite, old, broken-in wooly sweater...
4. A yummy comfort food....
5. The warmth of a crackling fire...
6. Extra blankets on the bed..
7. And a hot bubble bath just before going to sleep.
Have I forgotten anything?
Stay warm! And if you live down south, don't
tell me that it's in the 60's and you are having your
tea with ice while sitting on the porch swing! :)

thats so funny!! we r havin an "ice storm" in arkansas that is translated to rain and then below 32 degrees...LOL...and i was facebooking with my sis in law...in FL...who told me it was in the 60s or 70s...HAHA...best part is we just came from there and it was FREEZING until the day we left...sigh...what's a frozen sister to do??
ReplyDeleteIn tampa Florida it was 28 last week, but here in Cali it is 65 days and 45 nights! Stay Warm, I love your list.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm... Great list! We are having one pretty bad storm down here in KY. Some transformers blew at 3 am and hubby and I have been up ever since. Mercifully, we still have most of our power and heat..However, Tara, the Greyhound refuses to do her "business" in this mess....Poor thing..
ReplyDeleteAh, I love this post!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of it. Unfortunately, here in Denmark, in order to save water, often the houses come without a tub.:( My next big project will be to have one put into my bathroom.;)
Heavenly! I want those slippers! I've worn a whole in mine:)
ReplyDeletewonderful sentiment and images, betsy! my hubbie and i carpool together and he got me up at 5:40 to say let's get going. we were on the road by 6:20 and arrived at work at 7:30. i am 1 of 2 people here in the marketing wing of our company -- a total of about 35 people on a normal day. most people chose to work form home. i wish i'd done the same. take are out there!
ReplyDeleteI've got my fuzzy reds on!
ReplyDeleteWell, it IS in the 60's but it's gray and wet so no basking on the porch swing. Honestly, I think I would love some snowy weather because I love every single one of your seven ways to stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWell, I do live down south and although you told me not to, I will say that it was in the 60's and warm enough for the kids to play outside yesterday afternoon. BUT...today it's in the 30's and it is raining/sleeting/snowing. Not sure if it's really normal for all 3 to happen at the same time. However, school hasn't been cancelled yet. It all depends on how long it lasts. Keep warm!!
ReplyDeleteI love my super soft blanket I have on the couch for the evening time. It's cold here!
ReplyDeleteOk, I won't. I guess I can't tell you it's in the 80s and I have the air conditioner on today either... if it makes you feel any better, it was down in the 30s last week and I was a complete blubbering baby about it!
ReplyDeleteVicki...that quite a span in temperatures! Brrr!
ReplyDeleteRosezilla ~ 80's with the AC on? You just couldn't resist rubbing it in, could you!
ReplyDeleteI think you covered everything. Now keep warm. It's 21 here at the moment and it's around 4pm.
ReplyDeleteDown South is cold too. We have no power! Our business has power so here I am/ha on computer, maybe I will go get sleeping bag and camp here tonight. We have a generator at home that powers the gas logs in fire place, which I am thankful for because there are thousands of homes in Arkansas without power.
ReplyDeleteAaaaaahhhhhh, so VERY cozy! I have so enjoyed these days at home!! SWEET BLISS!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the deep south and I'm chilly. So don't think I'm down here so warm and cozy. I'll bet you have pretty pretty snow. Your post was neat. That soup looks fabulous! Betsy, you make the best looking food. Keep warm!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, all those pics are just so comfy and delish! If it makes you feel any better, you know I'm right with you in the northern cold, and my family is in the deepest part of the Arkansas ice storm. No warm Floridians here. :)
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I'd add to your list, Betsy, is a big furry cat on my lap! Mine gives off such warm body heat he is like an electric blanket! :-)
ReplyDeletejust found you today, and I am so glad I did!
ReplyDeleteoh and I'm sorry I cannot help you in the keep warm department - I am in San Diego, CA area and it was 72 today...again, sorry :)
ReplyDeletePossibly you are missing a hot rum toddy and a lovely pet (in my case a cat) to keep the cold at bay. It's -50C (-58F)where my cousins live in Winnipeg. Can you believe it?!?
ReplyDeleteHere in Toronto, it's been -30C (-22F) recently but it's slightly warmer today: a balmy -17C (1.4F). Okay, I'm tired of all these conversions, but I love snow and I love winter. I know, I know, I am one of the few. Keep warm and cosy, Betsy!!!!
I'm too wimpy for the cold weather. I couldn't take winters in Indiana, where I used to live. They'd have to take me out and whack me against a tree to thaw me out if I was where you are, I'd be frozen solid!
ReplyDeleteYou know, as I read this I was trying to think which was my favorite - but darn it, I like them all! I'm shivering right along with you. Spring cannot come too soon this year!
ReplyDeleteSusan
All very cozy :)
ReplyDeleteI like to bake something. It makes the whole kitchen warmer and smell wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAn out doors Hot Tub would be nice...make that one #8
ReplyDeleteHEY! Love that quote from The Shack...it speaks to me!!!! I will watch for it in your side bar!
ReplyDeleteI love the snow days!
I do live down south, but am jealous of everyone up north who gets to have a winter!!! I'm from the midwest and I can not get used to this weather.... send some subzero temps my way!
ReplyDeleteMinnesota ~ I do agree with you. I love the changes of the seasons here in Ohio! Just about the time I tire of one, the next one is coming. I send a little cool blast of air your way! :)
ReplyDeleteTuesday I lost power and have spent the last 3 days in an emergency shelter with 20 other people to be warm and fed, got home last night to a mess of limbs and branches all over my roof and front yard and still no power in my living room. We had about 6 inches of solid ice here. Sigh. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteHugs~~~
