I'll Stay the Way I Am, Thank you!

I stumbled across a blog that features celebrities and
their plastic surgeries. If you want to look up a favorite
and see if they really did have something done,
click here for Dr. Tony Youn's Celebrity Cosmetic
Surgery Blog. I can understand a little nip and tuck here and
there..especially if your looks are your living.
But the one thing that I don't understand is the
collagen lips! Why, oh why, do they want their
top lip full of lumps and bigger than their bottom lip?
That one I will never understand.

  1. I don't get those lips either! They are just plain yucky in my opinion. We ought to do some kind of poll with the men...that could be interesting. I know personally my hubby thinks they are yucky, too. Good thing I suppose.

  2. Mine thinks they are yucky too...yes, good thing, since I'll be keeping mine just the way they are! tee-hee!

  3. Eeeek! No slicing and dicing, pumping and plumping of that nature for me!

  4. I'll never understand either. Meg Ryan spoiled her cute looks with so much surgery and collagen.

  5. I agree with you so! To me any cosmetic surgery equals horror. I only agree with the importance of corrective cosmetic surgery.
I will rather age gracefully and have my body and face show my age; the beauty lies within anyway. There is nothing more alluring than a sight a woman that has lived.;)

  6. Ewwwwww!!!

I can always tell when somebody has had "work done" to their face. It looks funny. My doc did a couple of years back and I just stared at him. I did not mean to it is just that he looked different in an odd sort of way.

    Natural age-ing is better.
    Blech, yuck and ewwww.

  7. Me neither! Did you ever see The First Wives Club? The scene where Goldie Hawn gets her lipped super injected is hysterical but a little too close to the truth...

I know this may sound corny but the lines on ones face represent a person's history and I think there is a certain beauty in that.

  8. Rebecca ~ oh yes, that scene with Goldie is hilarious!

I agree about the lines on your face.....frown lines or laugh lines....they do tell a story, don't they! Not to say that I don't slather my face daily with anti-wrinkle stuff, though! ;)

  10. I often have on ET while I'm making dinner (don't judge me! :) and whenever they talk about the latest celeb having surgery, I have a moment of thankfulness that I can look very average in basic anonymity. I can't imagine subjecting myself to surgery voluntarily!

  11. I saw something online about Lissa Rinna talking about cosmetic surgery and something she wished she didn't have done, but I didn't read it. Cosmetic surgery just scares me. I mean, I can't say I don't wish I could change something. I just always think about all the pain or that something would go wrong.

  12. PLastic surgery? No big deal,if you live or lived in SoCal, tis a common enough thing.

But what I actually want to say, your comment about wanting the Batmobile gave me an idea for an upcoming blog. Thanks!

  15. I'm with you, the before photo I saw was so much more attractive then how she looks now. It's a shame some women think they need plastic surgery. True there are some cases where it should be preformed, but for me that includes people born with deformities or scarred from an accident. Not only that, but a lot of young girls like around 15 to 18 think they need implants to make their bodies look better. Good grief give your body a chance to fill out on it's own.

  16. That second picture is distubing! :) Even for a nurse...

  17. I think the lip thing is a mistaken idea that a fuller upper lip is somehow youthening. It's awful.

Is that Lisa Rinna? The woman had the sort of strong features that would never need work - what has she done??? Argh!

As for the lower image, I love that movie, Brazil... with a pointed message.

  18. Have you seen Kenny Rogers since he had his work done?
Bless his heart they took a good looking face and really ruined him.

  19. I completely agree. And, then I see the few women who are aging gracefully and they are so beautiful. I hope that is what I will do.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I really enjoy keeping reading yours.

  22. Nanny ~ I haven't seen Kenny Rogers, but I remember seeing his name as a link on that blog. I'll have to check him out.

Steviewren ~ you know, I think Meg Ryan looks older...not exactly the look she was going for, I'm sure.
    She was just adorable before!

  27. hi girl, at least she is honest about them ... i so appreciate honesty. she and i grew up in the same town, graduated the same yr.

glad you liked the rolls. easy uh? :)

  28. Well Betsy, we all know how lovely you already are, so glad to hear you would not change! I don't get plastic surgery and tucks and such--unless one was truly very very ugly. All these imperfections are what make one who one is--well at least that is what I understand from others. I, on the other hand, remain perfect so no need there to convince myself otherwise! :)

Well, i could get leg extension to go beyong my 5'9" height but really, that would be too painful to consider, and besides which, when i fly coach, i love my height as is--not so cramped as someone 6 foot and i don't have to eat as much either!

  29. I've seen some plastic surgery cases as a nurse, and I could not believe the risks patients voluntarily put them selves through for "beauty"!
