These pics are so appropriate today, being the
First Day of Winter! We have temps in
the single digits and the wind is howling!
A perfect day to stay inside,
sit by the fireplace and drink something steamy
in a big mug! Stay warm!

oh how i wish i could have stayed in all day. we went to miamisburg to visit the in-laws and help them get ready for christmas. plus we did some shopping for them and for us. brrrrr! it was freezing!
A frigid cold front moved into our neck of the woods today, but I never even thought about how appropriate that is considering that its winter's first day. I'm really chilly now!
I like the pics! it's not too cold here today in the UK, well near the capital anyway. It's 12c which is really mild for this time of year. It will be colder xmas day. xx
I love days like those, especially when it is so close to Christmas. Sadly here we have about 50 degrees and it will be raining over the holidays, not very Christmas like at all. I hope can you stay warm and comfy.;) Wishing you Happy Holidays from Scandinavia.;)
Abe ~ that's a good question! I guess they huddled around the fire and went to bed early...all together in one bed to stay warm! And remember those bed warmers filled with coals? You might have personal memories...tee-hee! ;)
Oh Betsy - I can relate so well. Our power (IN) went out Friday at 6 a.m. and we are STILL in the dark as of Monday 8 p.m. Thankfully my husband got a generator going today, but overnight it was 48 in here ... brrrrr/ughhh! Susan
It is frigid here in Canada too - can't remember it being this consistently cold in a long time. And the wind... that really puts the "C" in "Cold!!"
But I have to share something with you that may be selfish on my part... but I just have to! I am leaving on Dec. 24 for Florida for two weeks and let me tell you... it will not take me long to adjust to those sandy, hot shores... I believe we are having lobster for Christmas dinner!!
All the best to you, Betsy, and your family, over these holidays. I hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :-D
great post ~ full of chilly wind and your suggestion for hot drinks ~ will do!

ReplyDeleteMG ~ I know! While I was browsing google and looking at icy pictures, I just got colder and colder!
ReplyDeleteIt is verrrry cold here where we are in Arkansas. Definitely feels like winter! I just don't think it should get this cold and not snow:)

It makes me wonder how people used to stay warm when the temp dipped to -22?
