We buy microwave popcorn, but our favorite
way is the old fashioned kind, popped in oil on the stove
and drizzled with melted butter! It seems
to be a cold weather snack in our house.
And homemade carmel corn is a
holiday tradition!
Popcorn is a big, big favorite snack in this house too! Both the little ones love it, their parents (my daughter and son-in-law_ love it and even me, the old granny here has a major fixation for it too! 'Cept I prefer mine fully glazed with oodles of butter and nice and hot as well! Even been know to adorn my popcorn with a little garlic salt or even hot pepper flakes now and again! Yum, yum, Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteAnd, do those green bags really work that great? Bananas being the chief substance that tends to go bad on us and if it works that well for them, then I am going to have to make the investment!
Jeni ~ hi~ oh, I like different stuff sprinkled on my popcorn, too...the possibilities are endless, really! I'll have to try the hot pepper flakes!
ReplyDeleteYes, the green bags really work! I especially love them for bananas. I can buy more at the grocery and have them last until the next trip! And each bag can be used about 10 times before throwning them away...so it really isn't expensive at all!
Popcorn is a food group in our house, right behind chocolate!
ReplyDeleteKayren ~ hmmmm..us, too! In fact, I tease The Mister that he loves chocolate like a female! ha!
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteI saw your blog from my sister Bobbi's site. (My nephew Parker) I just loved your blog and I loved reading your stroy about your boys. I have 2 kids and 3 step kids. My son has a different disability he has Type 1 diabetes, which I feel God is what gets us through each day too. I really enjoyed seeing your blog and will visit again. Thanks, Ronda
I of course looove you vintage header!
ReplyDeleteI must admit I do like popcorn but I didn't realise it was healthy!
ReplyDeleteCJ xx
We all love pop corn at our house, prefer white over the yellow kind. At one time, all I popped was the Black Jewel kind.
ReplyDeleteYum! We just bought some "kettle corn" at a pumpkin patch visit last week. We've all been gobbling it up! I want to make popcorn balls with the kids some time this fall.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things to do is going to the movies. There is something about a darkened theater and seeing a movie star on the big screen, but the experience isn't complete without a bag of movie popcorn...even if it costs me almost $5.OO.
ReplyDeleteI love the flavoured kinds sold at "Kernels". I think Jalapeno Jack is my ultimate favourite. Fun post about a fun food!
ReplyDeletePopcorn is a favorite snack at my house too! Can't watch a movie at the theater without it either. Yoummy. Think I'll make some now!
ReplyDeleteI suggest North American eat more popcorn then--as a rather too fat people! I never knew that about popcorn being so popular.
ReplyDeleteMarie ~ I know I can always count on you to appreciate my vintage postcards! :)
ReplyDeleteLaa and fam ~ oooo....I love that kettle corn...it's addicting!
