and Ina Garten. If you like the chocolate and peanut butter
combination, these are the perfect brownie!
6 T butter
6 oz chocolate chips
1/4 c cocoa
3/4 c flour
1/4 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1 c sugar
2 eggs
2 t vanilla
1/3 c creamy peanut butter
Preheat oven to 350
Grease and line with parchment an 8x8 pan
Melt butter, chips and cocoa in double boiler.
Set aside. In separate bowl, whisk together the flour,
baking powder and salt. In electric mixer, on medium
speed, blend together the sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Blend in the chocolate mixture. On low speed,
add the flour mixture just until combined.
Smooth batter into prepared pan. Drop teaspoonfuls
of peanut butter over batter and twirl knife through
to get a marbled look.
Bake 35 minutes until toothpick has crumbs but is
not wet. Remove from pan after cooling 15 minutes.
Finish cooling on rack before cutting.
Ohhhhhhhh, I do and I will! :)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to make your pecan choc chip cookies this weekend but my local supermarket didn't have pecans and I never got to the big market. So I just made regular choc chip ones (no complaints). NEXT weekend I'm making the pecan ones and trying your wonderful braided bread.
Yum, yum! Sounds like you will be eating well this weekend! I love baking on the weekends...you need wonderful food while you relax and putter around the house, huh!
ReplyDeleteAs my little boy would say:
ReplyDeleteoh. my. goodness.
Those look so good, I'll have to try them soon!
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Lora ~ thanks for stopping by! Your kiddos would love these, I think! And you, too, with a big cup of coffee! :)
ReplyDeleteThese look de-lish! :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy...I can almost taste your brownies..I bet they don't last long with your "Five Men" around..
ReplyDeleteDelectable, Betsy....I think I would have to attempt to eat it all before the "5 men" could reach the kitchen...tee..hee...
ReplyDeleteLove your side bar Carribean picture...I'll bet you are so excited!
Willow ~ they are de-lish....or should I say were de-lish. :)
ReplyDeleteDeedee ~ No they didn't last long at all! I need a recipe that makes a bigger batch!
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ You know, I should have done that! I only got 1/2 a piece!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, can't wait to see that blue water and white sand next week! (and have someone else bake and serve me the brownies, among other things...and do the dishes! aaahh!) :)
Betsy, your brownies sound yummy and very rich. Hey, only 7 days until you depart! I'm very excited for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, MG ~ I'm getting rather excited myself! :)
ReplyDeleteAnticipating an exciting vacation makes each day seem so long though....Hope you have all the fun and relaxation you desire.
ReplyDeleteWell, Betsy, I am a *wee bit full* after demolishing most of Bachelor's lemon cake...but...I think I still have room for a couple of generous-sized brownies...((sounds of me gathering up my valise, hatbox and The Bebbers and running for a train north/south/west/east...help....from Bachelor's pad to your place..I guess I will just follow the chocolatey scent...
ReplyDeleteSteviewren ~ thanks so much for your travel wishes for me. I am quite ready for a little relaxation! The days are actually flying by here before I go...way too much to do to get the five men ready for a week without me! My oldest was teasing me the other day and I said he better be nice or I might not come back! He selflessly offered to drop out of school and become the surrogate mom. ha-ha. Wonder how long that would last. Might be a great sitcom theme!
ReplyDeleteLavinia ~ Yes, if you are coming this way by Bachelor's home, just follow the chocolate scent. But you better be bringing a piece of that lemon cake with you! :)
ReplyDeleteThose brownies look fantastic, but then again, it would have to be really burnt not to as brownies are some of my favourite things!
ReplyDeleteMmm ~ Yes, I agree! I don't remember tasting too many horrible brownies!
ReplyDeleteThose look delicious!
