As I was thinking about my entry for "duck" in
Mr. Toast's Creative Tuesday assignment, I was
doing dishes in the kitchen. And this little duck
caught my eye...my little nail brush!
He sits in a bowl of draining stones along with
other scrubbies and soaps.

very cute betsy...
ReplyDeleteBrian ~ hey, you spelled my name correctly! haha...just kidding. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo cute and how very clever. You really are quite a draftsman too, Betsy. I love the arrangements of the object. Very darling indeed. I hope you enjoyed doing this and putting ti together. Excellent. I'm posting you to the side bar now so others can see it too. Thanks again. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, that's how the bowl looks sitting at my kitchen sink. I didn't arrange it for the drawing. Although, I will confess to swapping out the old SOS pad for a new one. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the prettiest kitchen cleaning supplies arragnement I've ever seen! LOL! Even with an old S.O.S. pad it would have been pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis sound like a fun meme, I'm going to go visit.
Hugs,
Dawn
Dawn ~ thanks...I think it looks cheery sitting at my sink!
ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze me!
ReplyDeleteLove the clean lines and the color. Is it watercolor, colored pencils.... It's great.
ReplyDeleteIt nice when "needful" kitchen itmes can look so cute and cheery!!
You are the best Betsy, the best!
We may have the same name, Betsy, but I do NOT have your talents. Your painting is fabulous.... Love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
You are just a well of talent we have barely tapped into!! Very good indeed on your drawinng!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I lurve to have breakfast for dinner too! Yummy!
I think that is very good...way to go! ;D
ReplyDeleteThis is great! An everyday object which is part of our lives, arranged as prettily as a bunch of flowers. This is a really good idea and a very pretty image.
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing.;)
ReplyDeleteBtw, I love the drawing of you on the sidebar.;)

Love the drawing. Looks quite "piccasso'ish". I know it's difficult to get the perspective right with things like bowls, vases and similar objects, I can never get it right! 10/10 for artistic merit.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, what an excellent composition, love it. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteAdorable and your drawing is great!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if my kiddos would be more likely to scrub their nails if I had a sweet looking brush like yours!???
Wanda ~ it's colored pencils. If I was to do watercolors, I'd need some lessons from you!
ReplyDeleteKeith ~ well, thank you. I do struggle with the dimension and proportion aspects. I see my bowl is a little lopsided! LOL! I need some lessons and keep hinting to a friend but haven't received any yet!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's very cute! You need to open an etsy shop for postcards.
ReplyDeleteYou could call it (wait for it!) Betsy-Etsy!
Kat
Betsy you just amaze me!! Colored pencils...I love it! I wish I could do that!! I want one of your drawings to frame!!!!
ReplyDeleteYa Betsy another winner for you and us. I like it a lot. Using what is sitting around in front of you is one the the things my teacher keeps encouraging us to do. If you have public TV you can find any kind of art class you want. On Wednesday on my PBS station at 10 AM EST, there is a superb watercolorist. I will look up his name and send you an email. He is so good and so calm and an excellent teacher. That is if you want it.
ReplyDeleteQMM
Poetikat ~ haha...that is TOO cute!
ReplyDeleteBetsy : Your talents never cease to amaze me. That is a very satisfying sketch - there is something so warm and friendly about it.
ReplyDeleteQMM ~ sure...send me the name of the program!
ReplyDeleteHow ducky! A very nice still life sketch, I must say.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that new brillo pad make the WORLD of difference. LOL. You are too too funny. :D
ReplyDeleteMmm ~ LOL! Well, you didn't see the old one!
ReplyDeleteScrubba-dub-dub very good likeness, my dear. Wonder who will win that prize Mr. Toast is giving? :) The Bach
ReplyDeleteVery NICE! I wish I could draw like that!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that! If Sparky were here, I could have had her draw something. She's got quite the artistic ability. Hubby, too. But he's in Texas, so that's shot too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great still life drawing, Betsy! I really like the color combination of blue & yellow. It's very fresh and happy : )
ReplyDeleteI thought that I would just DUCK in and see what was going on! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of draining stones. What a charming idea.
ReplyDeleteMary
Corners ~ they aren't anything special...just a handful of small stones from my yard. The soaps and brillo pad last longer that way.
ReplyDeletelovely brush & drawing
ReplyDeleteCute little duckie. I'm loving seeing your sketches for a change.
ReplyDeleteperfectly cute - I love it!
