I may have one brewing of my own!
Can your house become haunted after you
have lived in it for many years?
We've had a full month of unexplained, strange
happenings here....doors closing,
drawers opening, and furniture moving
after we've gone to bed!
The other night
we heard the patio chair being scooted across
the cobblestones right outside our
bedroom window. But nobody was there when
we took a look. I've heard the gate
being unlatched, the window opening and
the water running in the kitchen sink!
~~~~~~
After living in a house a while you become
accustom to the normal
sounds of your house....the icemaker,
the hot water heater
running, the certain stair with the creak, etc.
We've lived here 20 years...we know
the normal sounds! And since The Mister
has witnessed some of these things, I know
it isn't me just loosing my mind. I thought ghosts
were normally those who had died
in the house....nobody has died here
except one of our cats! Although...don't laugh...
we do have a cat ghost! The cat died years ago
and I still see him in out of the corner
of my eye, hear him jump from the table
and land on the floor, and feel him stand near me
and curl his furry tail around my leg.
I jumped to the ceiling the first time it happened!
(I said no laughing!!!)
~~~~~~
Anyway, I'll have to keep you posted on the new
happenings....perhaps it's just the full moon....
or an upcoming ghoulish holiday? But honestly,
it's been going on for a few weeks....
so maybe it's more than that!
Alright!! I think reading these stories is starting to unsettle me!!
ReplyDeleteI like them in that chilling sort of way!!
Jill~ they have the same sort of effect as they did when we were kids telling ghost stories at a sleepover! :) Except these are true! eeeek!
ReplyDeleteThankfully I have no ghost stories! Too scary to think about sad and unrestful souls in residence.....
ReplyDeletebut witches ...... that's another story!
I've heard of a few people who live nearby who can put spells on people, and I know someone who says she can read the future with tarot cards!
Pat ~ witches? Hmmmm...that is scary on a whole different level!
ReplyDeleteBetsy... I don't believe in ghost, but I do believe in spirits... Like you I have experienced things that cannot be easily explained. My mom passed away 6yrs.ago(she didn't pass away at home)and for a short time afterward I felt her in certain rooms of the house. My daughter, Betsy and her husband bought his grandmother's home after she passed away and they have experience her presence in the house since her death. mmmm is that scary... not to me.
ReplyDeleteThere's a brief ghost episode in my next novel!
ReplyDeleteYou and Willow are spooky sisters!! :) I love stories of the supernatural - it's a big world out there and I am sure some who have passed on find it hard to leave!
ReplyDeleteOooohh that's scary! Perhaps Willow's ghost came to visit your bloggie house for the spooky season. If I had a ghost that seemed to be doing domestic arranging, as yours is, I would leave out a dust cloth and maybe some of the bathroom cleaning supplies. You never know...it's worth a try!
ReplyDeleteThank you for adding to the growing list of stories! Blicky Kitty and Debby both posted great stories today too! I have to go hide under my covers now, thank you.
Yikes!! Your label should read "scary" not "funny"!!
ReplyDeleteI am guessing your house is over some very old place that was inhabited. Maybe you all did something to tick somebody off. LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the problem is but it must be spooky.
Technonana ~ I agree it probably wouldn't be scary to feel your grandmother's presence in her old house....that would be different that someone you didn't know. It's all very interesting!
ReplyDeleteMuseswings~ Actually, I don't want Willow's ghosts! They can stay at the Manor! They are too much for me...I don't see how they take it in stride! Maybe it's because they aren't mean....and the one tidies up that junk drawer!
ReplyDeleteWow, Betsy, I wonder if that Hurricane you had a while back blew some stray spirits your way and into your house? !
ReplyDeleteYou need to install a camera to take photos at night. See if anything is really happening. Would scare me that's for sure. Are you sure one of your boys isn't playing a trick on you.
ReplyDeleteLavinia ~ I never thought of that! Hmmmm....the time line fits!
ReplyDeleteOld Lady Lincoln ~ when we hear these noises, we go and look...the boys have always still been asleep and the room where the noise comes from is empty!
ReplyDeleteDavid ~ I think you need to share a preview!
ReplyDeleteWell, that's just creepy. Is one of the boys moving stuff around? I'm going to have to go check out Willow's ghosts now too after looking at your comments here.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you went back and looked, but I asked you a little question about jelly toast. :)
~ Kayren
The TV in my bedroom blinked on and off last night a couple of times...maybe yours and Willows ghosties have found their ways to my house....please have them back...I don't like creepy stuff.
ReplyDeletethis is scary. :( i have scary mysterious stories on my blog, too. if you want to read it, look for the month of September. The title is "Beth & Kakay" i hope you don't mind that i add your blog to my list.
ReplyDeletePinkdaisygirl ~ Oh, my sister Willow has real ghosts...as in people died in her house and still live there!...seriously...she has the most amazing accounts of them!
ReplyDeleteSteviewren ~ Oh my....I'd be sleeping with the covers over my head! (not sure what that does for you, but it always helped when I was little!)
ReplyDeleteGrace ~ hi to you, too! Great...I'm honored to be on your blogroll...and I'll come pay you a visit today, too!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind my cat Ariel visiting me in spirit...but anyone with a move the furniture fetish need not apply! Keep us posted...I'm putting you on blog role so I don't lose track of you!
ReplyDeleteSandi
Very strange happenings for sure! Keep us posted.
