Baby Maiden Hair Fern

I have always admired Maiden Hair ferns and
when I decided to get one, I couldn't find one anywhere.
Well, I went back to amazon.com where I got my Baby
Tears and found several for just a few dollars.  It arrived
healthy and happy and fit perfectly in this tiny
vintage 3" pot I found in the auction trash.
I needed a smile today and she made me smile!

I read up on these ferns.  They are called the diva
of all plants.  Finicky and demanding...no drafts, no
moving from room to room and they want to be
watered every day.  No second chances...she'll
drop dead immediately.  Wow....so we'll have
to see how I do.  She's going to sit at the kitchen
sink where there isn't a draft, filtered sunlight and
I can water and talk to her a lot. Geesh! ha.

Nothing against your tender loving care....they just don't live very long...
    Enjoy her by your sink!
    Cheers!

  4. Well after reading Linda's comment, you better name her, so when she dies in 3 weeks, you can have a name on her tome stone..... OK, now my prediction...She's going to love being by your sink, she will thrive and she will love her name!

    1. I was surprised, too.....I was searching online where to get one and there they were....I've had good experiences both times I bought plants from amazon...it's nice if you're wanting a specific thing and can't find it locally!

  8. She's very sweet... but wow, high maintenance! Good luck with her. You've revived cats so I'm holding out hope. And I love her wee pot. She probably does too :-)

  10. Good luck! I had one once. It died absurdly quickly. And yet had looked so healthy and pretty in the shop. I don't think it liked me.

    1. From what I read, absurdly quickly is very common! I don't think it had anything to do with you!

  11. Lol well it certainly is a diva! ! I have one plant in my house and we got it when I was 6 mos pregnant to see if how we would do. Let's just say I walked into the nursery and said "show me a plant that is the hardest to kill". Well, it's gone weeks without water and it's still kicking. In fact, it near tripled in size!

  16. Oh, my word!!!! I gave in and bought one of these yesterday, too!!!! I didn't realize how finicky it was going to be! I did have one a LONG time ago and it didn't last long... hence, a long time resisting the urge for another... but, I succumbed yesterday at the grocery store no less... Hmmmm... it may have dropped dead over night. We'll see how long we can keep them alive. They just make me happy to look at them. blessings ~ tanna
