After spending quite a while cleaning bathrooms today I
thought I'd better check on the guys. A head count only
produced two out of three. Hmmm. Harry was missing!
Then I noticed the baskets that hold the raincoat linings,
hats, and gloves had been removed from the hall closet!
I grabbed my camera and called his name.
Yep! There he was! Too bad he can't talk
or I'd ask him who he was hiding from. :)
I'm just glad he was still in the house! I wonder if we should try a game of hide-n-seek!
Wow! Never a dull moment at your house. Glad everything turned out ok.
ReplyDeleteMy grandchildren used to hide in the closets, a little like hanging the blankets over the chairs in the living room, and playing tents !
ReplyDeleteThe expression on Harry's face is priceless.....
It would be so nice to know why he was in there. And it's great that he was safe, of course.
ReplyDeleteMr. Fox ~ If I had to guess, he was hiding from Spencer, who bosses his brothers around ALL the time. :)
ReplyDeleteJo ~ I used to love making those blanket tents...and my boys did, too when they were younger!
ReplyDeleteSo glad he was still in the house. I can imagine that glimpse of terror you must have had when you realized he was missing.
ReplyDeleteNow that we know he is safe and sound I need to say this: He. Is. So. Adorable! I love that look on his face. Clee loves to close himself in closets, too. What's with these two? :)
so glad he was in the house too! Has he been known to 'hide' outdoors??
ReplyDeleteBetsy, I think you are the poster woman for 'never a dull moment.' I love your style .... and Harry? Adorable!
ReplyDeletesmiles could he ever fill you in on why he was there? i know he cant talk but pointing or...
ReplyDeleteglad he was okay...
and my repo story is up now...i did it for willows magpie...hehe...and gave you a nod in the end...
It sure is a relief when you find them safe and sound. My daughter gets up in the middle of the night all the time. She'll tell you she's nocturnal. We had locks up high on all the doors in our old house. By the time we moved here she was tall enough to reach them but she has never gone out. She get's up and turns on the tv, does puzzles, colors, sings... We don't get much sleep around here.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that new food=gag reflex on the sidebar? I relate!
Betsy, I'm glad Harry was ok! Me too, I like the expression on his face ... you really took him by surprise :-) happy w-e to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteMost kids like games involving hiding... What a lovely little boy!
ReplyDeleteI found you through Brian's post about repossessing and been cruising through... Please can you give me the weight/mass of butter sticks so I can make your delicious fruit crumble. Thanks...
Love your site!
Surprise and wonder, continuously! -J
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder what goes through his mind! And, seriously, Spencer is the bossy one? Funny, I guess because of the autism I never thought that one of them might be the most dominant, but it makes total sense.
ReplyDeleteChristian ~ Spencer has always been in charge! :)
ReplyDeleteDawn ~ Spencer is the one who has always run away. He deserves a post all of his own. We, too, had the locks up high on the doors! Oh my.
ReplyDeleteMy cousins and I used to play elevator in our uncle's closet when we were young.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Harry was thinking too. I hope he wasn't scared.
I think it's funny that Harry moved the baskets to hide, leaving the detective work rather easy.
ReplyDeleteHe looks so young in the first picture and a little bit surprised that he was found.
great post.. and pictures speak a thousand words.. even if he cant,,
ReplyDeleteGlad all turned out well..
See ya soon
that is funny. do they ever play hide adn seek still? Perhaps he was imagining he was in train? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your moment of terror was short-lived.
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter was very young and we would play hide and seek, she would sit in a corner by the entertainment cabinet, cover her eyes, and say "You can't see me!"
that's always scary....my neice ella rose pulled that same stunt the other day..
ReplyDeleteglad everything is o.k.
where's FALL?????
kary and teddy
xxx
Whew! I saw the title of this post and was hoping he wasn't missing. Glad it turned out okay.
ReplyDeleteDid you have a moment of fear???
ReplyDeleteLove your new look...very classy
Nanny ~ No, I don't have the fear factor until I've searched the house and can't find him. The rattling door was a dead giveaway! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI always loved hiding in the closet, guess he does too! ;D
ReplyDeleteDo you know why we find you so inspiring? Because you put that post under "autism/fun". I might have chosen autism/worry or autism/lost. I had a few moments when my kids were hiding and I couldn't find them. Worry, yes, fun, no. Only in hindsight can I now add fun! Way to go, Betsy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog the other day...love your blog too!!! I can relate to your hide-n-seek...we played that game 2 years ago and we had to get help from the neighbors and the police to find my little guy...thank the good Lord he was fine...but boy the drama never ends.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and yours,
Steph :)
Awww, so glad you found him but his look says that he wants to keep hiding, as it's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteOh, I meant to add that I love the new look here, Betsy; very fresh!
ReplyDeleteFunny! Now, if Spence would have turned up missing would you have been a bit more panicked??
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new look!
what a cutie. glad you found him...they do love hiding from us don't they? Love your new blog look!
ReplyDeletexxoo
That must be a unsettling moment if you are missing one.... Harry looks so innocent peeking out of the closet..
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your "memory Closet" is overflowing... :)
