- Buy a cute little fern at Kroger in the spring.
- Just a tiny one that hangs on the handle of the shopping cart.
- Set it in a mostly shady spot outside for the summer.
- Water well and rotate pot weekly.
- At first sign of frost, bring inside.
- Comment with amazement on how huge he has become!
- Take his photograph to share with bloggy friends. :)
Now that is one awesome fern. He deserves a name. We had plants when we were first married in our first apartment, and we named them. Now we just have kids instead. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the new header too...do you move your furniture around all the time?
Kayren ~ hmmmm..yes, I'll have to think of a name. I've never named my plants, but I do talk to them!
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't move around my furniture! tee-hee! But redecorating the blog is just too easy! I do have the urge to paint a few rooms, though! :)
Now that is a gorgeous fern!! And your house is very pretty, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, arched window - no wonder he is such a happy camper!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or Not.
ReplyDeleteThis is a huge fern and how you grew it is really a nice tale of numbers. It is marvelous.
I grew one once that got huge and hung way down and almost covered a Fern Stand. And another giant was s Spider Plant that was a monster.
I had a garage sale one year and sold the Fern for $40.00 and the Spider Plant for $50.00.
My Halloween memories
Mine always die, I wonder what I am doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteHe is so handsome! He looks happy to be inside!! :) I talk to my plants, too.
ReplyDeleteAbe ~ wow! You have a green thumb! Can't believe the prices you got! I love those spider plants...haven't ever had one though!
ReplyDeleteAt one time we had a huge fern like that, but it was almost too big. We had a garage sale, and believe it or not, husband sold it. I can't remember the price it sold for, but the lady that bought it was thrilled to death.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That is one spectacular fern! You have a beautiful living room with a huge, gorgeous window... doesn't your fern add such a nice splash of green?!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, your living room is so comfortable and welcoming. The fern who grew large looks great in front of the windows. Imagine what it will look like at the end of next summer....!
ReplyDeleteSuza ~ yes, I think he'll do very well with the diffused light from that window!
ReplyDeleteDJ Kirby ~ I think the key is morning light and mostly shade. Water frequently, too!

Modgirl ~ I agree that Mr. Fern has added just the right touch to the room! It's just what it needed! ;)
ReplyDeleteNice pic of the fern and your living room. The window is a great asset.
ReplyDeleteI am very impresses with your monster fern. Mine get crispy and turn brown and fall on the ground. I can grow orchids though, so that's something. Just not a fern. Lovely house! I shall stop by for tea.
ReplyDeleteMuseswings ~ I've never tried to grow an orchid! I'd have to get some tips from you and Modgirl if I ever tried one! I see them while shopping and think they are beautiful! Yes, please come for tea...in fact, y'all come...I'll put on a huge pot! :)
ReplyDeleteWow..he is a big fern...looks great!
ReplyDelete-Sandy toes
He is most certainly MOMBO!!! And, I do believe he knows he is well loved! :)
