New Hope for Lonely Singles

Newly single tanned male seeking Ralph Lauren Polo mate for life.
*******
My dear friend Alan Burnett from News From Nowhere has a brilliant idea!
We all have poor lonely socks who have lost their mates, right?
A new website could just be the answer! And since
nobody can say it quite like Alan,
here is the idea in his own words... "I have
therefore established a new organisation which will be known as NNOSE (News From Nowhere Orphan Sock Exchange) and which henceforth will be dedicated to reuniting orphaned socks, wherever they may be. This truly global initiative requires nothing more than for you to post a weekly scan of any orphaned sock in your collection and agree to post if off to any other member of the NNOSE Network who has a similar available orphan. I urge all my friends and followers to post (digitally) a sock in the hope that soon they will be able to post (logistically) the same sock to a grieving partner. The movement could become viral within a matter of weeks. At long last a real reason for the Internet will have been discovered. Mankind will be happier....." Click HERE to read more (you won't be disappointed!)

And seeing as I live with 5 men who are famous for owning socks who have
tragically lost their mates, I am happy and excited at the possibility
of becoming a charter member of the NNOSE.
Finally, there is hope for all orphaned socks of the world! :)

Brilliant, Alan! Simply brilliant!
And thank you for saving the orphaned socks.

  1. I was thinking "Yes, Alan is brilliant!" even before reaching the bottom of your post and seeing that you used the very same word!

  3. I can't imagine how you can sort any laundry with five guys in the mix. Socks would be a nightmare.

  5. Brian ~ if Alan doesn't come through on this, we'll all have to make sock puppets!

  6. Now that Don and I have retired... I am happy to say, I haven't had an orphan sock in a long time. And when I do.... it goes in the garbage! If I find the other one... It goes in the garbage too.

My sock drawer is way too full, and I wouldn't miss a few.

But I do remember the days of 4 kids in the house...and that's a lot of orphan socks.

  7. I have a "sock box". Singles go in it for a month, if the mate doesn't appear, they go in my rag box for dusting with...great for doing spindles and 6 panel doors. I do wonder where they all go, especially my bright colored ones... I'm the only girl in the house!

  8. Anita ~ that's a great idea! If Alan doesn't get this website up and running, I'm going to start dusting with them. :)

What I'd really like to know is where those lost ones really go!

  14. It wasn't until I looked closer that I realized that wasn't a hole in the sock. I kept wondering why anyone would want a sock with a hole in the side......

  15. HOW FUNNY!! I have a mini laundry basket FULL!

I am laughing about Harry and his NOT liking snow on his pants legs. I MUST admit that when I wash up..hands OR dishes IF I get water on my shirt cuff/sleeve...even a TINY bit it truly PLAGUES me until I change my shirt!!!! COLD and UNcomfortable!

  16. I'm giggling like crazy over Alan's not so brilliant plan.

Now that my boys are grown and gone, there not so many incidents of sock lossage here.
