The Beaver Moon

Last night was the full moon of November!
It's called the Beaver Moon.  A moon so full and
bright that, according to The Farmer's Almanac,
people could set their beaver traps
in the dark, insuring that they would have
enough furs to keep them warm all winter.

We finally had a night that wasn't cloudy or rainy
and I got some photos of it.  No beaver traps were set,
although we do have a live trap set for a raccoon.
Does that count? haha.

    1. Sometimes the obscure moons are more interesting than the full on shots.
They are eerie and romantic! I like that! Old Mr. Moon is always charming. :)

  3. Hi Betsy - the moon was glorious last night ... creamy yellow as I went out, then on my way back a few hours later ... it was silver light in the sky ... no beavers here that I know of - nor traps set! Happy week ahead .. cheers Hilary

  4. Sure the raccoon may not think it fun
Glad we don't have to go after beaver fur under moon or sun
    Great shots though
As the moon is all aglow

    1. If I had to trap my own coon
under the light of the moon
      I'd be out of luck
      and saying wtf. haha.
      Couldn't skin one I know
so I'd be cold and have a red glow.
Would have to snuggle with one live
to keep us both warm and above to survive. lol.

  9. I hadn't heard that phrase before. Have you caught a raccoon before or is this a new trap? We had a skunk a few weeks ago before didn't want to catch it. Fortunately it didn't stick around.

  10. I never heard of that before. It was very foggy here, so no trap setting in the moon light for us. :) Your moon pics are always so good!

  11. I did not know that. Oh, it was such a big beautiful moon and I should have taken pictures. We live at the end of a dirt path and seeing that big moon lighting the path was beautiful! I love your pictures!

    1. We have too many trees to see the moon really big on the horizon.
I really am irritated at that. haha.

    1. That's because it's the Farmer's Almanac and not the Fox's Almanac. :)
