Lazy

It was a lazy day here.  Drizzly showers pitter pattered with intermittent sun rays breaking through as
I sat at my desk most of the day and cleaned out drawers.  I have hundreds of files, mostly about autism,
that have accumulated over the last 14 years.  And by the looks of some things I found at the bottom of my 'To Do' basket, I hadn't reached the bottom of it since 2009. ha.

My spring cleaning seems to me less of the scrubbing kind and more of the organizing and throwing out kind.  I need to get to some half finished projects and they are under all the unorganized stuff!

When I needed to stretch and refill my coffee cup, I'd peak outside and see scenes like this.  Tiger and lil sis Grey snuggled up together.  :)  I have finally succeeded in petting Grey this week and actually got a purr out of her!  She's an especially tiny, quiet kitty...so sweet.

We had a pipe under the kitchen sink go soft.  I didn't know steel could do that! But after 25 years, the plumber said it's very common.  He was here today to replace the pipe.  Before I sat at my desk, I mopped the kitchen, emptied the trash and scrubbed the sinks.  Can't have the plumber thinking we're slobs! ha. You know, with things breaking in threes,  two more things will be breaking soon!  Pat, don't say a thing! lol!  (Pat predicted a laptop would break and Spencer's did!)  I hear he can't interpret his own dreams, but he can predict the future here at my zoo! lol.

The last few things are blooming here and then things will all be turning to lush green.
The rains this week and the 80 degree temps really made the green more vibrant.
This lazy day has made me yawn!  I can't stop!  Sitting all day can make me very sleepy! ha.
See what happens when I don't have to do an A to Z Challenge?  I ramble. :)

What did you do today?

    1. they are so healthy...so unlike some strays I've seen! ha Just shows you what some shelter and regular nutritous diet will do. Never saw the new litter...she must have opted for another place. Wonder how they are. I'm sure if they didn't have food she would be bringing them here!

  5. we had an early morning thunderstorm. Spent the day in the kitchen cookin up my husbands birthday supper. Went for an afternoon stroll through my yard and garden to check on all the growing things, heard an Oriole and got my first whiff of honeysuckle. Lovely! Bummer about the pipes, never heard of them going soft! I would have done the same thing you did before he got there. ha

It's kind of like having company...you clean up the spots you normally let go. haha.

  6. haha, yep. Spring cleaning this year holds zero appeal to me, I'd much rather go outside or concoct something new in the kitchen. sigh... I need a maid.

just open your windows and air out the house and forget the rest...that's the best way to spring clean. haha.

    2. Thank you thank you! I believe I will! haha

    3. haha...fresh air is the best anyway, isn't it? The other stuff can wait for a rainy day. (not tomorrow, though. ha.)

I'm looking for pussy willow when I'm out Thursday. :)

  9. Ramble on, Betsy... I feel like we're sitting chatting together. Love those kittens...just wish I could have one.

Sometimes when I see your picture, I want to invest in a "real camera" except I wouldn't be able to unstand it...I guess I'll just stick with my Point and Shoot! But your pictures are exquisite.

    1. well, thanks so much. But you know, my camera has an auto focus...so I just point and shoot, too! It's just a little bigger with a wider lens. I still need to read the book after having it a year! Silly, I know...I just need to take the time to do it. I really think good photos have more to do with lighting, too and I seem to be able to take better photos in outdoor, natural light.

the only inconvenient thing about a bigger camera is that it doesn't fit in your purse very well! haha.

  13. I went to Ladies' Prayer this morning and picked up one small child on the way. I snuggled a baby this afternoon, washed a couple loads of laundry (which still need to be folded...), played marble chute and giant Legos, read part of my book (The Eldercare Handbook), and made sure Mom did her wrist exercises. (I'll run the vacuum cleaner tomorrow.)

    1. No, not the end of the To Do list...just my "IN" box of paperwork on my desk. I don't think the To Do list will ever end. lol.

Funny thing about these cats...they are snuggly with each other...even with two litters...one big heap of cats out there. ha. They keep warm that way. But they do plenty sneak attacks, too!

  16. LOL ahhh now who is the forgetful one
It wasn't the laptop I said would break with my rhyming run
    It was your coffee pot
As the laptop broke first at your spot
And I never knew the three thing would come due
    Until the first blew
But I will be quiet as I know what will be next too
    It might disrupt your zoo..LOL
    Cute kitty pic as well
Cassie and Orlin only do such acts when going to that other city place in their caged cell.

    1. haha..oh, you are right!
      How could I forget
that you broke my coffee pot!
      Wow..now we're both forgetful
but at least the other is helpful
      in the reminders
      when we wear blinders.
      lol.
Poor kitties are trying to comfort each other
as they go off to nanny's for a weekend of terror.
      hahaha.

    2. Yeah at least the others is on the ball
When our brain takes a fall
Maybe it's just a subliminal test
To see if the other is at their best
And they will sure need comfort soon
When off they go without the Pat loon..haha

I was caught up in your flow of thoughts..."When I needed to stretch and refill my coffee cup,..."
I adore tiny buds. The perfect print for china or bed sheets. I want to buy everything I see adorned with them.

It's drizzling and cloudy here but I did manage to catch a glimpse (and a couple of photos) of a Red Breasted Grosbeak. I've never seen one before other than in my bird books.

  31. Yeah they can go bad, we had to replace some pipes a few years back, wasn't fun finding out and wasn't very cheap getting fixed. And glad it's not just me finding todo lists from awhile back that still need doing lol Super cute cats.

  32. Oh that's utterly adorable. so sweet. Sweetness abounds there, it seems.

Well, for Wednesday, i had a fireside chat at my fallats' clubhouse firepit with other neighbours. I had them all hooting and laughing out loud at my bathroom stories. teh one of the guy dropping his gun that fell into my stall then his hand trying to retrieve it was the most popular. lol. Geesh, me and bathrooms!
