Thumbprints for Creative Tuesday

The theme at Creative Tuesdays this time is Thumbprints.  We had to use our thumbprints in the artwork!  So much for my colored pencils, right?  ha.  If you click on the drawing and enlarge it, you can see the leaves of my potted shamrock and the robin's egg are made with my thumbprint.  This was so much fun and took me back to kindergarten finger painting! (And little Timmy eating the paint.  I remember him also loving the paste. Ew. ha.)

Now don't go copying my thumbprint to frame me at some crime scene!  My fingerprints really are on file at the FBI.  Seriously!  haha.  But that's another story. :)

This theme is due on Tuesday the 13th.

    2. well, I put the hatching eggs there for my continuing bird theme...too subtle?

    3. No, doll, not too subtle! Just perfect. And I meant to say earlier, I love the enhanced "thumbprint look" when you enlarge the picture!

  7. I like it!!

My fingerprints are registered too! Can you guess why?

Maybe I'm a hardened criminal? hee hee

    1. really? haha. Hmm. I have no idea why. You don't seem like a hardened criminal to me...but you never know. :)

    2. I guess saying hee hee kind of ruins the image doesn't it?

Foster parents have to be fingerprinted to be licensed in my state. :)

      Delete
    3. Oh, of course. I should have been able to guess that. :)

    4. I thought about making up some big story about the time I hotwired a car, but decided that would take to much effort. :)

Did you get groceries today? Cause it has rained all day here. :)

      Delete
    5. haha..that would have been funny. :)

I did not...but it rained here all day, too!

    6. Rebecca, I was going to guess that your fingerprints were registered because you're either a Black Belt in Karate or a prize-fighter, and your hands are registered as deadly weapons!

    7. Silver, My hands aren't, but I've been told my eyes are. :)

    8. Funny story about me being fingerprinted. I'm double jointed and for some reason I couldn't get the little screen to "read" my fingerprints. I had to try about 20 times, and the UPS employee had to finally hold my fingers and press on top of them. What a mess. :)

    9. just like the cops do! ..hold your hand, touch the ink and roll them from side to side on the form. well, that's how they used to do it. lol...

So, you can shoot daggers with your eyes?

      Delete
    10. Your eyes are deadly weapons? We'll have to take your word for it, since you -- like myself -- aren't using a photo of yourself as an icon!

      Delete
    11. @Betsy: I thought Rebecca was implying that her eyes were really beautiful. That's why I said we'll never know!

      Delete
    12. My eyes are brown, and not really anything special, but yes I can "shoot daggers" with them. :)

  9. Very nice! I like it. :)

So, your prints are on file with the FBI, eh? Have anything to do with that repo girl?

    1. No..but that's a good guess!

They've been on file since I was 3-4 years old! Some criminals start young. lol...

    2. When I was young...3-5 years old..., my dad was the chief of police in the town where we lived. It was the 60's and, of course, much more innocent time. I'd hang out at the station with him...look at the people behind bars..ask why they were there..hahaha. He took my fingerprints back then and sent them in to be kept on file. Maybe it was just a slow crime day..haha..or maybe he was ahead of his time with ways to track a lost or kidnapped child. :)

  10. This is a beautiful interpretation, and just in time for St Patrick's Day!

  11. That is really neat
How they made you use your thumb prints, maybe next time your feet..lol
The robins must have flew away
Before they could be put on display
    And little Timmy eating paint
    Ewww that make me feint..haha
    And the FBI you say
Hmmm are you really some secret serial killer at your bay
    It's the food isn't it?
You give a tasty treat and then they fall over and you push them in your back yard pit..LOL

    1. Why is it that everyone assumes I'm a crook
if my fingerprints are on file in a book?
I could be a secret undercover agent
      hiding behind my laundry detergent,
5 men and 9 cats! A pretty clever cover!
      Would even fool your mother!

    2. And you probably are too young to remember paste.
Big tubs of white gooey yuckiness.
Every class had a student who thought it tasted good
I always thought they were crazy and a little bit rude!

    3. nice...love the texture you give the leaves of the shamrock...hey what came out of the egg?

      Delete
    4. a turtle. lol....haha...just kidding. What do you think? :)

      Delete
  12. I know what paste is though
The nasty gooey stuff that can flow
    A turtle came out
Wow that is a new shout
Actually I was betting on a cat
As you have soo many at your mat..lol
Even though you said a robin there
Guess your twin was playing with his hair
I knew it had something to do with your dad being a cop
But it was more fun to think of you going chop chop
    And off with the head
    Leaving so many dead
    Yes weird I know
    Let's forget I gave that a go..haha

    1. a cat hatching out of an egg.
does it also have 5 legs? ha.

      maybe I'm a double agent
and the chopping isn't so irrelevant?
      ha.

      Delete
    2. haha it has two tails and an extra head
So that is one more to be fed

So you are a nasty torturing double agent too
Remind me to run if you ever come into view..haha

  13. Betsy...
I really like this...very creative with the thumbprints...
    shamrocks & eggs.
You should have your own art studio with your pieces for sale...
or do you sell them on your Betsy's etsy site?

  20. A brilliant interpretation and so you too, Betsy. I LOVE it. Love the blue robbin eggs in there and everything about it. It seems so English for a St. Paddy's day picture. Hee. Great use of your thumbs there. Almost as good as logging them at the FBI> I wonder if that has to do with your repo girl days! Love it. Want to hear THAT story too. Oh, and I had to chuckle at the Timmy story too. Thank you!! great job.

    1. I guess it does look rather English now, doesn't it!? It just needs a cup of Yorkshire there in the forefront. :) I actually thought you might not accept my entry since it wasn't a monster, so thanks for that. Whew. ha.

    2. I too love all these thumbprints! I'm not sure my commented is replied or formatted correctly, but I do love your thumb-y leaves and bird's eggs. It would be cool to see perhaps a thumb caterpillar or thumb birds hanging about? Lovely drawing!
