French Toast With Strawberries and Whipped Cream

We've had a couple of extremely busy weeks here.  Lots of business dinners and receptions and meetings.  But we have managed to squeeze in a little relaxation!  For brunch today I dressed up my usual  buttermilk french toast recipe with strawberries and whipped cream.
Yum.

A cup of hot tea made from the Zojirushi was the perfect compliment!
Have you had a nice weekend?
I'm looking forward to a fresh new week!

    1. you ARE first!
sorry it's food but it could be worse!
At least I'm serving you juice
      so don't abuse!

      Delete
    2. First at you and your twins place today
I'll have to mark that one down for display...haha
I admit I had to go look at Zojirushi
      Guess my brain was mushi
Why couldn't you just call it the elephant machine
Then I'd have got it right away at my scene
      And I have a hunch
      You enjoyed your brunch
Fresh new week it may be
But ss dd as work comes once more to bush number three

      Delete
    3. wow..that IS a day to remember
won't happen again til this September!
yes, little elephant machine would work
then you wouldn't have to lurk
      on old links
that cause your neck to kink.
They could have had the water come out of his trunk
now that gadget would have some spunk!
      ha.
I'll say hello to you at work
      while I come to lurk
      at your new post
      tomorrow from the cat host.

    4. LOL be sooo funny if it happened again in Sept for real
I'll remember and see it's the real deal
That would be kind of neat
But might be a bit tacky with the decor or melt with the heat
      Sure I'll get a smirk
When you say hello while I work and lurk
At least I have no Flappy this week
      To run her beak

      Delete
    5. I have no doubt you will remember
      come September. :)
      No Flappy?
I keep wanting to call her Yappy.
Well it sounds like the week is looking great
even before the morning dawn does break!
And we probably won't need tissues next time
      when reading your rhyme!

      Delete
    6. At least until maybe Thursday I think it is
Then you may need the tissue biz
      Or maybe not
But the idea was spawned by something you said last year at my plot
The rest of the week/month will be grand
As I aready have most of it done for my land..haha

      Delete
    7. something I said last year?
oh, this will be interesting I fear.
I've noticed you've got the drafts ready and waiting
      and there is no procrastinating.

Hey, I'm loving the book so much!
each one gets better and such
Love the way this one is unfolding, too
      each page is something new
      Orlin is a nice addition
      in your book creation!

    8. hahaha yeah I got 30 ahead and ready to go
It's how I keep up at my show..haha

Glad you like and it isn't a fright
This one took a bit more time to write
As I couldn't screw up the lore of the first three
So had to make sure all worked in the story
Just when I think I can't top myself
There comes another from my shelf..haha

      Delete
    9. Thirty ahead
      is that what you said?
      ha.
      I have none in draft
      is that being daft?
I sit down in the evening on most
and say "now what will I post?"
Then I start to type it out
and hit publish to give a shout.
Maybe that's why yours are more creative
as you've let them sit and age a bit.

    10. I do not plan MY posts ahead,
Unless I think them up in bed,
Sometimes the thought jumps in my brain
and till I write I am in pain. :)

  2. I love strawberries and whipped cream on my pancakes {I really do not like syrup at all}, and then a dusting of powdered sugar. I have to try this on French toast!

    2. you should check out the stuffed french toast on my blog. You might enjoy it, it's scrumptious!

    3. oh that sounds good! stuff with...cream cheese?

      Delete
    4. cream cheese and a small amount of fruit filling or jam of some kind. I usually do a red raspberry jam

      Delete
    5. oh that sounds perfect...I'll have to try that kind, too!

    6. I like to use the Pepperidge Farms Cinnamon Swirl Bread. mmm, yum!!

      Delete
    7. now that's an idea! I usually just buy a loaf of french bed and slice it thick. You're making me hungry all over again! ha.

      Delete
    8. Ha, I also like to use that bread for the dessert version of mountain pies :)

      Delete
    9. it's made over a camp fire in small cast iron (bread size) pie irons. We mostly make the pizza ones and the dessert ones. They consist of two pieces of bread (plain for pizza) buttered on one side with cheese and sauce and pizza toppings of choice and toasted over a fire to make a sandwich. The dessert is buttered bread (cinnamon swirl) with cream cheese and fruit filling and is also toasted over the fire. Very yummy but rather devastating to the waistline! It's a fun summertime thing. The kids love it!

      Delete
    10. Wow! That sounds way better than a s'more! ha. And being cooked out over the open fire just makes it taste even better I bet!

      Delete
    11. It's super easy for a crowd too and not a lot of cleanup! Serena has been begging for a campfire this week but the pit is FULL of raspberry and rose canes waiting to be burned but it's been too windy

      Delete
    12. you must live further south than us to be pruning and having camp fires! But it is supposed to be near 50 degrees for us this week! That's almost campfire weather..haha..but it will be in the 30's by evening.

    13. well this has been a VERY unusual winter for us here. I live in Zone 6. I have this goal in mind that involves a big party outside the beginning of May :) ha I know I'm prolly crazy but I love to plan ahead and act organized. I say act because I don't always feel it!

      Delete
    14. well, that sounds like a lot of fun! I can see you being organized and plan ahead like that. If you have a fire, it will be cozy!

      Delete
    2. LOL!! That's too funny. They are a very scary fruit! Thanks for the thought of a warning :) hahaha And they are WAY scarier than grocery store lurkers. haha

and if you make the cinnamon raisin french toast, I want some. Sooo yummy!! lol

      Delete
    3. OK..so why do you think strawberries are scary? Are you imagining all those seeds as eyes looking at you? ha.

      Delete
    4. If I tell you, you won't eat them anymore. Ok, but I warned you!!

Did you ever do a Biore nose strip or anything to get the black heads out??? If not, then try one. Then look at the strip and tell me what you think it looks like! It's a strawberry!!!
